So because I don't want to go through the aggravation of trying to pull everything apart just a pullout switch blanks I am having my car stereo installer take it all apart from me and internalize the USB auxiliary port and run the wire to my glove box for my ipod The iPod will be in the glove box and I won't have to see a stupid wire hanging out the front of my console.

I used the USA Spec to do essentially the same thing ( plugged into head unit instead of behind switch panel) but ran the cable so that the ipod was in the centre console where I can access it

The after and $25 later. Took the guy less the 20 minute total. Removed the cup holder area, the silver console, then the climate control. Pulled it all through and ran the cable to the glove box. Viola no more stupid wire sticking out, and nice clean look. Going back to have him to do the same for my Galaxy S5 so it can charge in the glove box. Don't need to see it since the HU has all the features I need to operate it.

I use my iPod nano's bluetooth feature just so I don't have to plug it in lol. Of course when it gets low on battery I have to. I'm not an audiophile so bluetooth vs. hardwired doesn't bother me. And I don't have anything that necessitates AUX anymore.

    Anyways, interesting modification.

I did the same thing! Works great and keeps the Ipod out of sight.
Didn't spend anything though, I had a fog light switch I wanted down there.

    Good job bud.

After you take the pic w your smart phone. Go to your pic album. Grab the pic. Go to edit. Rotate pic. Save.

Where did you get the extra switch blank to fill the hole?
