I'm not one to really make a build thread but I thought I would give it a shot with my 2016 Tacoma that I purchased from Nalley Toyota of Roswell, Ga on January 16th, 2016. I traded my 2013 FJ Cruiser Trails that was mildly built. To keep you guys from falling asleep, I'll turn this into more of a picture book than a novel.

Toyota of SouthEast likes to add stupid pinstripping to the vehicle and I asked the dealer to remove it as it was a $200 but they refused. When I got home, I immediately removed it....I didn't even tell my wife I was home at this point.

Here is it is the day I picked it up.

I kept the TE37's off my FJ but had a friend clay bar and OptiCoat them after having a fresh set of 285/75 BFG All-Terrains K02 installed.

On March 31st, I received my King Suspension, Total Chaos UCA and OME rear leaf spring pack from Down South Motorsports. I took Friday off to install the goodies knowing me and a couple friends planned to do a trail ride that Sunday. I stayed up all through the night doing the installation then went to work to have a co-worker perform the alignment on Saturday. That was exhausting doing this without any help and on my back in my garage.

Here is a comparison of the factory leaf pack compared to the OME Dakar leaf pack.

During the installation of the suspension lift, I also installed a set of All-Pro rock sliders. I would not advise installing these with out assistance as it's a royal PITA. I had them powder-coated by a local shop in Cumming, Ga.

Here is what the truck looks like after the suspension, rock sliders and wheels/tires were installed. At some point, I had the front windows retinted to match the rears. The windshield was also tinted at 70%.

Check out that mingled ass factory skid plate. I have since removed it and plan to replace it with aftermarket components.

On April 10th, I received the black badges off the 2015 Tacoma TRD Pro. Notice how they are one character shorter than the emblems on the 2016 model.

Thanks to the RetroFit Source here in Atlanta, I will be doing a retrofit either this coming Sunday or next weekend. I ordered a set of the non-AFS RX350 projectors with the STi-R clear lens. I will also be blacking out the housings to replicate the look of the TRD Pro lamps.

Thank you everyone for the compliments. It's far from being completed but I've been enjoying it.

One day soon, I will be installing the following.

    • Archive Garage Rear Shackle kit
    • All-Pro U-Bolt flip kit
    • All-Pro rear extended brake lines
    • Timbren bumpstops

I also need to order the rear shock relocation kit and proper rear King shocks to get it to all work together. After this, the rear suspension should be set and will then need to do the front long travel setup.

After doing some research on how to tune the projectors with the clear STi-R lens, I decided to have The Retrofit Source complete the tuning. I could probably do it myself but it was much faster to have them do it and I know it was performed properly.

I will start the project tomorrow after work. My agenda is to remove the headlamps, have them disassembled and painted. Friday I will do the install and finish everything. Fingers crossed that it goes together without a glitch.

I finally finished my retrofit Saturday night. What a PITA this project turned out to be. With these headlamps using PermaSeal rather than Butyl sealant, they took numerous bake sessions to finally separate.
