Has anyone had any issues with Blind Spot System Malfunctioning? The dealership is saying it may be due to my lift kit. However I think it stopped working ever since I went to the mountains and got snow and ice on the side mirrors.

Please let me know if you have had your 2016 raised and blind spot system had no affects?

    Thanks,

TSB came out a few days ago for 2 different codes in the BSM system. Did they get any codes when scanning?

I'm not sure. They just tried to replace the computer and that didn't work. I can't take my truck in for a few more weeks due to travel. Thank you for the info and I will tell the Dealership to make sure to check the new codes and post what happens. Thanks,

    dude

your BSM radar is not in the mirrors

BSM radar is under the taillights

it is calculated and measured and designed to sit at a specific angle and specific height and behind a specific type and thickness of cover

so yes lift could mess them up

TSB is about mung affecting them, so yes winter crap can make them flaky

The TSB is for codes for short in either side mirror, if so replace the BSM sensor.

Right on. Thanks everyone. Wonder if anyone else has had this problem after a lift?

If you lift the truck to the point where the sensors are looking above traffic, I wouldn't expect the system to work properly (i.e. it won't pick up cars) but I would not expect an error message, it simply wouldn't notice the objects. I'm gonna venture to guess you haven't done a 10 foot lift on your truck though haha.

I did a 3 inch leveling kit. The BSM system was working for a few days after the lift. Yes I am getting an error message. I think it says Blind Spot Monitor Unavailable. Can't remember cause I haven't been home in a while.

My BSM system came on all by itself... I did not turn the switch on.... The light in the mirror was flashing on and off on the driver's side... Nothing on the pass. side.....

So.. I turned the BSM switch "on" and the same shit was going on...Light in mirror going on and off....

It was while driving in wet snow and ice....a lot of ice build-up on the rear bumper area..... I let it all melt off and dry out and then tried it a few days later... It works as normal....

It looks like the rear sensors are susceptible to moisture intrusion or something..... Go figure...they are right behind the rear wheel....!!

I don't use that stupid option anyway and don't care if it works.... I'm thinking of putting something useful on my truck and I'll use that switch for that add-on....

    BSM..is for the birds...!!

I went to check the BSM fuse today and it's not under the hood....must be in the left driver's knee fuse box.... Does anyone know how to remove that fuse box cover without lying on your back in the slush and salt, etc...? I've reached up there and have the cover in my hand; however I do not how it is supposed to come off..... Cannot feel any obvious clips or anything..

    Anyone..??

EDIT.... I think I found my answer on another thread... thanx guys/gals

Tou... you "may" still be low on tranny fluid... the work order stated that you arrived and they checked the tranny "at operating temp."
I'm under the impression that the temp has to be specifically between 95-113*F when checking fluid....NOT "operating temp.", which is way higher... Somewhere in the 180-190 range..?? If they checked it at that higher temp., you might still be a little low...
For what it's worth. You might want to ask them what they meant by that statement..!

Looks like you were low for sure, but you're closer now.
