I work at Honda and I wouldn't buy one. The interior is nice, but I hate the front end as it looks like the pilot. But those things are selling like crazy so maybe it will do well? I do like the "cooler" in the bed and how it has exciters(?) or whatever they're called in the box. Kinda nifty.

Big fan of my wife's pilot and owned an accord before the Taco, but I dont think the new ridgeline would be for me. Bet they sell a bunch of them though. That being said, there are some things on the new ridgeline that I wish the new Tacoma had.

Really the Ridgeline is a better utility truck than the Tacoma. Better load capacity, 4x8 pallets can be forklifted right into it, AWD has 7-pin Class IV hitch, trans cooler, and 5000lb tow capacity. The front end doesn't LOOK like a truck but looks aren't what makes a truck.

Honda wised up and put a square bed on it so topper manufacturers will have toppers coming out soon. The rear underseat storage is a great feature, you can slide two storage containers underneath with three passengers seated.

Are you confused with the 2005-2010 Nissan Frontier? That issue has been fixed.

imo, the RL is not in direct competition with the Tacoma. It is targeting a different part of the market.

That said, glad to see the 2ng gen Tacoma had no issues like rotting frames after 5-7 years. :D

We have a neighbor that sells Hondas. Were chatting about the ridgeline last weekend. this sums it up, pretty much word for word what he said. Honda buyers are loyal, and if the need a light truck to run to home depot and such, this is it.

Exactly, if you need to haul 4x8 stuff/pallets regularly (which is a fundamental requirement for home improvement projects, IMHO), the Ridgeline is a much more functional option than the Taco. Half this thread is odd comments about gender/sexuality, which say more about those posters' insecurities than anything about this vehicle.

Trucks are tools. The Ridgeline is a very capable tool for certain applications (as is the Taco for a different subset of applications). End of story.

Jeez man, the Ridgeline can haul more than a Tacoma, can handle a 4x8 pallet forklifted into the bed. The Tacoma is the light duty Home Depot truck, not the Ridgeline.

Wonder how many Ridgelines they sell for that feature alone. One, maybe two I'm guessing.

They would sell a million of these if they just made the front end a little boxier.

This circle jerk thread brought to you by 3rd Gen Tacoma owners. If you have a 2nd Gen but don't like the 3rd, it's because you're jealous. If you have a 3rd Gen and don't like anything else, it's because you purchased the greatest vehicle ever built

Nope. Loved my 2nd Gen, best vehicle I ever owned. Just wanted more modern technology. If I would have had it in my 2nd, I'd still be driving it today.

Why is this in the 3rd gen section? It's not even a Toyota.

I'm a big Toyota fan, but My wife has had Hondas for the last 18 years and every one of them has been excellent; every bit as good as Toyota, if not slightly better.
I will drive the Ridgeline any day (if you can pry the Tacoma out of my hands)
