    These are pretty bulletproof engine and trans right? No timing belt etc ?

    Yes 199,000 miles never had a problem with either. The only thing to look out for is maybe a valve adjustment on the 2.7L. They come with a timing chain not a belt so that is nice.

    The 2.7L has hydraulic valves. No adjustment needed.

    The 2005 and newer 2.7 L have them but not the 3rz motors. They have shims and bucket!!!

    Now I can't seem to find the info on it, but what type of mpgs are owners of 2nd gen 4 cyl dc prerunner owners seeing? Would you say the power seems adequate? Also, how does it handle in snow, specifically the kind that we get here in Northern Virginia?

    Also, I thought there was another thread similar to this one? Can't seem to find that either despite using search.
