Or pilots older than 06. They seemed to have vanished.

From what I gather the touring edition gets the 9 speed transmission where anything under that gets the 6 speed. Not surprised they're having issues with the 9 speed. I'm pretty certain the ridge line is getting the 6 speed.

Most people are bored of their vehicles after 10 years. And a good number of those older vehicles end up over seas I bet. I traded our 2005 Honda CRV for my Tacoma. I bet the CRV would've gone another 100k miles. But I couldn't stand crawling into that thing anymore. The 2005 and 2006 CRVs seem to have disappeared also. I always laugh when I see the newer CRVs. They've miniaturized them into a hatchback.

Our local Honda Deaership has a Ridgeline in stock - Looks like a Pilot minus the enclosed cargo area to me.

I think it looks okay. The grill is no worse than the Tacoma's. Headlights are a little more streamlined than Tacoma. Cab and bed are just cab and bed and no real difference between the RL and Tacoma where I can say one is much better than the other.
Wheels are too small, but I don't think it will look right with a lift and bigger wheels - maybe the front end is too refined for that. Maybe our Photoshop experts can put bigger wheels on it...

I see a common thread in all the negative comments about the Ridgeline, both past and current. Setting aside the posters who are obviously compensating with their innuendos about manhood; what is left is a lot of what they think it is and very little of what is does. It's a Pilot with the back chopped off. It's based on a mini van. Etc...

Well, I'm an retired engineer, aerospace, and I have always followed the engineer's axiom, "Form follows Function". In short I care a lot more about how it works than any side issues.

My 2007 tows my John Deere 3320 with air conditioned cab and 300CX loader (~4500 lbs incl trailer) and my 25 foot Hake sailboat (~4000 lbs) with aplomb.

I live on a small ranch /farm so it gets called on to transport feed, gates, building supplies on a weekly basis. The lay flat 4x8 wheel wells always amaze the guys at Home Depot who hate trying and failing to shoe horn a sheet of Dry Wall into a Colorado or Taco.

10 years of rocks, hay, mulch, concrete, goats, atvs, alligators, deer, fencing and lumber have left only a few scratches in my bed. No dents, rust, cracks or other damage. If fact in preparation for selling it (New 2017 has my eye) it took me less than 30 minutes to remove the 4 Allen head bolts in each panel and air spray them with flat black. They look absolutely new. 30 minutes and my 10 year old bed looks like it just left the show room. What's your Taco bed look like?

Dry storage. Aren't the beds in our mid size trucks already short enough. What a shame so many of you have to lose another third to a Bed Tool box. I get almost as much storage under the rear seat.

I didn't even have to mention the in bed trunk. But speaking of that trunk. Yeah the spare is in there. And yes it could be a problem if I have the bed loaded with something I can't easily remove on the side of the road. It only takes two minutes to lift out the tray and set it in the back of the cab if you are really worried about it. Here the engineer takes over in me and I calculate ...

140,000 miles total. As an estimate I make 1 trip per month with a load that would make access to the spare problematic. Most of them are local and relatively short. Say an average of 10 miles. So that works out to 10 miles * 12 trips per year * 10 years = 1200 miles at risk. I've had one flat in that time which means that in 10 years of use less than one Ridgeline owner out of one hundred would have a flat with a load in.

Let's face facts. 90% or more of the time the bed is empty and we are using our trucks as a passenger vehicle. No one that I've met and who has driven a Ridge would argue a taco. rides better, is more comfortable, more quiet, roomy or handles better. None.

Reliability? If your taco isn't folding in the middle it has probably been quite reliable. Much better than a Ford or Chevy but the Ridgeline has been bulletproof.

    [IMG][IMG]

Anyway all this was in good fun .. if a Taco works for you buy it. If a Ridge works for someone else why do you care? I'll let you all get back to your insecurities now. Cheers from Central Florida

That's close. I was googling for comparison tests and it lead me here. After I stopped laughing I thought why not.

I saw one in Glendale near my house! It was black and looked like it had all the bells and whistles.

It looked like a minivan coming up the front but I recognized it as a Ridgeline.

Also, why is the 2017 coming out in July?

I liked the first gen ridgeline a lot. I almost bought one instead of my 2nd gen tacoma. I absolutely love the storage under the bed, and don't really care much about the looks.

My only gripes were the shallow bed due to the unibody design and the width of the bed.

The 2nd gen had me all excited. I actually drove one today. The RTL-T, it drove really nice. Like a car - really, and the interior was top notch. The only things I didn't like that that rear doors don't really swing open very wide. It's almost like 70 or so degrees. Would make getting a baby carrier in there tough. You can definitely tell, they were trying to get away from that 'truck' image with the first gen.

Also, in order to get a moon roof, you need the RTL-E model, which starts at 41K. A moon roof is not available on any other lower trim. A little ridiculous if you ask me.

Oh yes, the consumer reports stats. Look, this is a Tacoma dedicated site and your coming here talking insecurities? All while attempting, failing I might add to convince us that that ugly station wagon is somehow on the same level as a Taco? You keep telling yourself that buddy. We will keep being very secure driving our trucks, thank you very much.
