I've read the manual but no matter how I try, I cant seem to get the rear diff to lock electronically (just for testing here).

    -I stop.
    -Put the truck in NEUTRAL.
-Press the lock button on the upper panel.

The dash pod icon flashes and then goes out.

What step(s) am I missing here in order to get the rear diff to lock?

99.9% sure you can only use the differential lock in 4-LO on the TRD Offroad's!! Kinda stupid if you ask me! That's if yours is a 4wd!

There's a anytime locker mod for that.

Put the truck in 4-LO and then try to engage the locker, should work then!

I guess next test will be in 4-LO... :)

So in the TRD OR 4x4 do we at least have a limited slip in the rear since we cant lock it non 4-LO ?

I'm pretty sure the limited slip is only when the 4-HI is on. Don't quote me on that! But i believe its like that for all 4x4 trucks!

4Lo, then DRIVE while going under 5mph. If it still won't lock try turning the steering wheel all the way one way and then all the way to the other side. Keep doing that until it locks.

Edit: I should also mention the under 5mph is only for engaging and disengaging the locker. You can drive as fast as you want while locked.

And it's not a mechanical lsd. Just uses the brakes, but yes.

You need to be in 4HI before you can go to straight to 4LO
Oops. Didn't see the 3rd gen section part.

That's crazy, you can ONLY use the factory when in 4lo in 4x4? Even with a M/T? Even the 2WD's OR locker can be used at any speed. Hope they find a fix/mod for that before I get my 17' DC OR!
