    Hey everyone, I am looking to get Bilstein Adjustable 3″ lift kit with 5100 shocks, no front diff drop, top plate spacers, 2inch Toytec add a leaf, and the coilover assembly. I have a 2005 Taco PreRunner double cab and wanted to make sure I am getting something that is both reliable and wont put too much stress on the diff and transmission. This is my first time doing a lift and I am in no rush to buy, and I just want to make sure I am doing the best lift for me.

    I am looking at eventually get 32" tires and maybe 33 (?) depending on if I really think I need/want it for some casual offroading.

    Is this lift kit reliable? Do I need to upgrade my upper control arms (I'd prefer not to have to)?

    Here's the link I'm looking at getting them from: https://bilsteinlifts.com/shop/toyo...ilstein-adjustable-lift-kit-with-5100-shocks/

    Look in the suspension forum there's a lot of good info. Do your homework so you don't spend money 2 or 3 times on the same parts. Only you can decide what's best for you. Anything over 2.5" you'll need aftermarket UCAs.

    both are good lifts. i personally am running billies all the way around with eibach coils. achieved about 2.5in lift and it rides good. stiffer than stock for sure. but yeah just keep looking through threads and you'll eventually find what you're looking for.

    Here's the consensus that most threads have come to

    Mixed Lift Total Cost: $570.00
    5100 front/rear = 300.00 at DSM
    OME coils = 170.00 Toytec
    AAL = 80.00 Toytec
    1/4" Top Plate Spacer = 20.00 Toytec (For Driver side Lean Correction. OME's Full kit includes the equivalent to this as well)

    OME Full Kit No Diff Drop: $670.00

    Bilstein 5100 Full Kit No Diff Drop: $620.00 (NOT the Ultimate Lift Kit... Different Animal)

    It's just a matter of preference but I am not sure. I'd love to hear from people who have tried either or for some reason both?

    3 inch lift with Toytec Boss and All Pro UCA's up front. AP expedition leafs with Bilstien 5100 shocks in the back. 255/85/16 Cooper S/T Max tires. All Pro skids, rear bumper and sliders, Hidden winch mount with XRC 8000 winch. Dual Optima batteries with IBS combiner/isolator and solar. CMC. Auto sliding rear window mod, hidden CB, CVJ axles and plenty of other little mods.
    Another consideration is what you are going to use the truck for. Lifts that use stock length rear shocks (OME) actually reduce downward articulation. You have more ground clearance, but traction/off-road performance suffers.

    Well I am about 60% highway 25% streets and about 15% off-roading and even then it's nothing crazy. I have been reading a lot about the 5100's and to not go more than 2.5" lift on them or else you start to get other problems. Also that they tend to overheat since they don't have a cooling reservoir.

    However other threads are saying that is why they are much cheaper than coils.
