I have never dealt directly with Toyota only with dealerships. I use one particular dealership because they have always taken care of my needs dating back to 2002 and I have never needed to argue my case.

10 for Toyota Corp 800# folks, refunded my first payment ($430) and gave me 7yr/100K bumper to bumper Toyo Care for free after only 1 request and 1 day of turn around.

6 for Toyota Corp Field Techs, because they don't really know what the heck to do and this is where the 'characteristic' jargon comes from that dealers feed us.

8 for the dealership. They've replaced my rear diff, finally filled my trans, replaced the license plate light in the bumper, fixed the hood, plugged the howl noise TSB, did a realignment, and have confirmed the rumble below 25 mph.

They earned this score because it took me a while to convince them about the trans, but it's full now. On the rumble strip I supplied them with the fixed invoice from a fellow Taco owner that went to arbitration, but the Midwest Toyota field techs said it was an unapproved fix for a 2016 model for 2015 model issues, so they would not perform the fix until an official 2016 TSB came out. I mean the dealership can only do what they can do, and it's not Toyo Corp that you call on the phone, field techs are all done by region, so I get that the dealership is doing what they can and they haven't given me any grief other than asking 3X to check my trans, which was low. I guess they could push more, but they haven't.

Buyers with issues really need to have direct contact with the Toyota Field techs. They are like the Stig, and no one knows who they are and they don't want to talk to you or meet you in person. They only rely on the customer working with the manager, based off what they say and approve. I think this is the ultimate breakdown for most people not getting things resolved. If they had to deal with customers directly, things would change drastically, IMO.

I think this is like the 5 stages of grief. Toyota has their own version:

    1. Denial and Isolation (deny everything and claim that you are alone in your complaint)
    2. Anger and Dismissive behavior ( get offended, resent you for daring to complain, and completely dismiss the claim by arguing with you and dismissing your complaint outright--blaming websites and forums for corrupting you).
    3. Bargaining--(once you get corporate involved "if only you had described it this way sooner" "if only we got our field tech out here sooner")
    4. Depression-- Toyota agrees there is a problem but that nothing can be done about it. Sometimes remedies are prescribed to cope with this in the form of extended warranties 7yr 100K or 8 yr 125k plantinum warranties for the extreme cases.
    5. Acceptance-- Toyota finally accepts that the problem is real, fixable, and, this is very important, cost effective to repair and they issue a TSB or fix the problem completely.

Everyone goes through all of them with Toyota at some point. Right now I am stuck at 4, but with the help of my prescribed remedy, I'll make it through it.

You can't fully rate Toyota when most of the outcome is from independent dealerships and Toyota has to rely on them for information and their work

    10. Excellent service
Passenger door Access weather strip pinched (from factory) so that it stuck out like a mini hernia, when doors closed. Dealer replaced with new one the next day.

A solid 1. I would have given them a 2 if they had filled up my washer fluid at my first oil change (I subsequently then had to check all my fluids to see if they even touched it). They blame my problems (vibes @ 2100 RPM, rumble strip at slowing) on my 265/75 Duratracs but yet in the same sentence say it is normal. They say my rear diff whine is normal (according to dealer and a Toyota field tech). The Service Manager even had the balls to ask me why I insisted on putting such aggressive tires on my Tacoma because he takes his Dodge Charger on worse roads than I do my Tacoma???? WTF? I have complained about these issues at three separate service appointments (like I have the time). On second thought I give them a 0.

Perhaps if you include a 5th radio button in your poll with text similar to this: "my vehicle had no issue which required me to take it to be serviced" you would get more votes.

Had I have not bought my '16 Tacoma
    I would have given Toyota a 10
I've owned 4 previous toyotas without even a minor issue, that being said Toyota gets a 0 for my '16
I'm excited for next weekend to get here because this pile of trash is getting traded in on a trd pro 4Runner .

I haven't had any big issues. I did the atf check myself, which it only needed half a bottle. Greased the zerks and that minimized and "rumble strip" feeling when braking. I had the speedometer tick once so I'm still trying to experiment to see what may have caused it (sitting in the sun at near 100 degree days and then driving long distance is when it occurred). Have a very slight intermittent whine from the rear diff, not loud and not consistant to give it much thought. The only time my hood vibrates is when I go by or get passed by semi trucks and get hit by the wave of air. Poor mileage is made better by staying at or below 70mph on the highway. My only annoyance is that I can't set the cruise and forget it like I did on my 2011.

Overall I'm happy with the truck. Drives smooth, handles great, enjoy the creature comforts. Of course now that I say this I may have doomed myself.

Also, I have ~6000 miles it

No better/worse than dealing with GM on issues, in my experience. Probably should not be surprised about that. I wanted to believe the hype... I tried pretty hard.

This poll needs a new option.
Got tired of dealing with numerous issues and traded the turd gen in on something reliable
