Tacoma sales are down from a year ago. First few months of gen 3 sold like hot cakes and now they are below what they selling a year ago with the gen 2. GM is making major gains on them too. I know some fanboys are going to not like that but it's the truth. Toyota realizes the rollout has been not so smooth with the Tacoma. Glad they are actually making some moves to improve things.

Santa Cruz.. Mine was the first vehicle into the dealership for this TSB and all went well with the update.. I've really noticed the symptoms upon cold starts in the mornings.. So hopefully the truck is G2G.. It drove just fine this afternoon though. But it's the trans and ecm WAS indeed reflashed

Although, no annotation as to whether fluid levels were checked, if my truck is even affected by a low level or not.

I"VE CALLED THREE DEALERSHIPS IN OREGON and none can find this service bulletin. They have all looked up my vin (as described in the TSB) and say my truck doesn't pull any service bulletins up. HAS ANYONE IN OREGON had this done? I'm so sick of retarded service departmentS!!!!

TSB for 4 cylinder was issued months ago. This new one is for the 3.5.

I just had this TSB done. It's awesome. She drives like a dream. I'm so happy. I'm on mobile now so I'll write more later, after driving her a bit more.

Just drove home 35 miles from the dealer after TSB at 65-80 mph with cruse on the whole time and I have a substantial improvement in the shifting points

Print the TSB, walk into your dealer, hand them the print, snap your fingers 3 times while waving your hand in a "z" shape, and say "do this thang".

If people get this update and it seems a big improvement, it wouldn't be the worst thing to send Toyota an email through their website showing appreciation for addressing this. We all probably think they are obligated to do these sorts of things but some positive feedback won't hurt when it comes to them addressing other issues.

I got a call today from my dealer in San Diego letting me know the TSB is out to fix the shifting problems and to come in for the new firmware.

This was after they found my fluid 2 quarts low.
