Probably keeping you on back burner while he makes near term deals with people who are easier to haggle with

That's what I figure as well, but got a 2017 instead of 2016 out of it instead.

Tell him if you don't see a VIN by XXX date, you are going to be forced to look elsewhere for your business. Tell them you're lacking confidence because they are not providing clarity of info. You can be nice about it but professional.

Just so you know, Navigation is standard on the TRDs and Limited, it has nothing to do with the P&T package. If your dealer didn´t know that I would try to find another one to work with, at least another more informed salesperson.

I'm going out of the country to Poland for 3 weeks as of 07/22. IF I don't hear back by then, which inshould, I will follow up and ask the, what's going on. It's a DCLB and from what I heard take forever to get, so who knows who's telling the truth. I've seen other members not get theirs, same build, for 4 months. Not sure if it's the dealer or Toyota not making them.

Says standard on the limited... Does that mean it's optional on the other trim levels? I really miss the power rear window on my old truck and would likely trade my 16 if I could get the power rear window on a trd sport.

By looking at this spec, it's not optional on the other trim levels. I guess they updated the Limited to the standard power rear window to make it up for the power seat.

When first launch, the power seat was missing due to one reason " Toyota said they did a survey that 90% of the time the seat on a Tacoma never got moved by a second person" but the truth was that they had some problem with the airbags so I'm assuming they are going to put the power driver seat

*** And also make the tri-fold tonneau cover to be an accessories so people can buy it.

I went to my local dealership last friday (July 8) to put a deposit down for a 2017 TRD OR DCLB. Got a call today saying they have allocated the truck I want (I think they may have done an allocation trade with another dealership). Because they just allocated the truck, it's not yet in their system but he said it should show up soon with the build date information. Once it shows up, I'll ask if he could pull up the spec sheet of the truck to see if there are any new features.

Just ordered a 2017 TRD-OR DCSB M/T. I'm being told "Late September to Mid October" delivery.
Sorry, I have no info on any potential changes from the 2016 model. Just thought I'd share the delivery date if it helps anyone.

Regarding ordering a 2017, are you just throwing $500 down to hold it for a 2017 or are the stealerships taking your cash and telling you that your truck has come in sooner and it's actually a 2016?

I'd rather over a 2017 now and wait until Sept/Oct than get a 2016 now...plus then my wife won't kill me until after our anniversary.

Well atleast how my dealer did it, I wrote them a check for $500 and he puts it into a folder along with all the information about the truck I want. He said they won't actually ever cash the check or charge my account. The check is more of a means of showing that you are serious about buying the truck so they can put in the effort. Atleast that's how my salesman explained it to me. He explicitly asked for a check, not cash. The experience could be different for different dealerships.

Okay. I'll roll to my dealer tomorrow and see what they have to say. If they need a check that they won't cash or a refundable CC deposit, I'm good with that. I assume you worked out an agreed upon price?

No I didn't agree on a price. Just put down a deposit to allocate the truck. Being that the truck isn't in their system nor are they being built yet, I don't think he has the confirmed price. He said he will contact me again when he receives the build date information. At that time, I'll ask about pricing. My first priority was to get them to allocate the truck.

I gave a $500 refundable deposit. So yes they actually are holding $500 of my money. But I built out a truck and negotiated a price. Told him I wasn't handing over $500 for nothing and there are plenty of dealerships to talk to about price. Regarding 2017, yes it is a 2017 and it will be here mid August. Hope this helps.

The dealers probably already have the pricing for the trucks. I just never asked about the price. I haven't signed anything yet so I'm not that worried. I know for sure that the general public won't see the pricing until August.

Interesting you were able to negotiate the price without official Toyota price release. Good for you

In my case, they first tried to locate a 2016 with the specs I wanted, and quoted me a price based upon MSRP and a certain dealer discount.
Since we've moved to ordering a 2017, they said they would honor the original price quote.
My understanding is that '17 prices are within $300 difference, so it's not a huge swing by any means.
