I'm stupid when it comes to wheels, anybody know anything about these? Theyre 17's and the owner said they are stock chevy backspacing. I'm debating buying them but i dont want a wheel that I'm going to have to run large spacers. No spacers would be ideal.

The tires on them are 35's.

"Stock Chevy backspacing" is way too vague. Looks like the wheels are off the truck, he should be able to look at the specs on the inside of the wheel and easily tell you specifically how wide they are, and what the offset is.

Need more info. Wheel width. Must have a 106.1 center bore. 7" wheel at -12 = 3.5 back spacing thus tire will stick out 2" farther. 8" = 4" back spacing. 9" = 4.5" back spacing. Stock Toyota wheels are +30 offset. Most of the stock Tacoma wheels have 5.4" back spacing.

The tires stick out about 0.5" pass the mud guards. I like the look, but I need a more aggressive tread than the LTX MS/2's.

I bought a set of wheel that are 17x9" 6X139.7mm i believe is the bolt pattern -12mm offset. What would be the best size tire for this Rim? going on 2010 tacoma with 3" coil overs in the front and aal 1.5" in the back. I'm think I will need to get a set of 1.25" spacers but not sure. New at this so any help would be appreciated.

To start off, just using the same tire you had on stock 7" wheels, the tire will stick out over 2.5" farther. You will gain 5/8" more inside clearance. I would say you can safely go two sizes up on width tire-from a 265 to a 285, etc.. That will still add 3/8" more inside clearance and then stick out 2.88" more than stock.Height is going to be based on your lift and existing clearance. I would just turn your wheels to full lock. Then lay a ruler across the tread and see where the 2.88" offset puts the inside and outside corner of the tires. Most clearance issues will be the rear corner of the front tire against the rear area of the fender well. Biggest thing is tire sidewall sticking out nearly 3".

It is a easy fit width and correct hole pattern but what is offset or backspacing and the center hole diameter. The center hole s/b 106.1-106.2 mm or rough scaled to 4-3/16". You will see backspacing after you put it on. I imagine that width is fine at + or - 10 to 15 mm offset with no problem.

Find out the offset. Your stock ones are probably +30 which just means more wheel towards the engine. I went from +30 with 7.5" wheels to +10 with 8" wheels and moved them out 1" farther away from the engine. Sits even with the edge of the fender flare.

here is some more info the seller sent me...

Yup, or if you know someone you could get the center bore drilled out bigger

The back space is 7", and the spacers will only work if your hubs are flat, or close to flat

I'm working on a jig so i can drill these center bores out my self

    ......................

that was all from the seller.

Personally I want wheels manufactured with the correct bore machined on center to the bolt pattern. If the seller is .015" off center when he drills/bores the wheel it will never balance. If the hole is bored too big then you will need adapters or it will not balance (when mounted on the truck). 7" backspacing is not made for a Toyota truck. You will have spacers so thick they will be unsafe. IMO. Honestly I spent 35 years as a Machinist and worked my way up to Project Manager in fabrication and machining. You just can't simply drill the bores unless you have access to machine shop equipment and good working dial indicators. The only wheels I ever opened bores on were mid 90's Z28's that I use to toy with. The rears were different on the same body from 95 to 96. I think you should save up and buy good quality wheels with guaranteed fit and a factory warranty. You can find them from $90 each and up. Or just watch craigslist or these forums. Better than ending up with a major migraine over wheels.
