IDK about that, Tundra IMHO is best in its class, just like Tacoma is best in class. I'm willing to believe he just picked the wrong tool for the job, and is just not posting to bash the Taco one more time again.
    Cheers!

Not directly, but for all intent and purpose it may have come out across as such

I have a 2nd gen Tundra and a 1st gen Tacoma. I could not be without either one. They both do what they were designed for, and do it very well.

Oh, and I don't think he is gone. The tundra forums are kind of boring. There just isn't as many people on those sites.

    This site rocks.

I got 33.5K for the trade. The Tundra was on sale for 38.5. So with tax it was a little over 6K.

I dont consider what he originally posted a bash.It seems like anything even slightly negative is considered a bash or a slam against the truck in the 3RD gen forum.Maybe it was that way also with the 2ND gen when it came out.I wasnt on the forum then.

Sorry Eric. I own guns too. Spent time in Iraq, Afghanistan, a few other places. Taught EOD skills to "other" country reps that we are not supposed to. I even got a Superior Civilian Service Award for being an old fat retired Army guy, that saved a couple of troops after a bridge attack in southern Iraq, 12 June 2007. So if I wanted to make anyone feel bad, it wasn't my intent. So if you feel bad about me getting rid of my Tacoma, and honestly so do I, wasn't my intent. If I was out to make you feel bad, I'd just make fun of your masculinity, girly figure, small appendage, and yellow streak down you back. Best of luck with you Taco.....Alice.

I did actually. I had a '14 TRD and it towed 3.5K with relative ease. I bought into the 6 speed, torque curve, i.e. the 3.5 is more capable than the 4.0 for towing. It took me a about a month of considering before I bought the Taco. I went with the '16 because of the '14. Thought it was going to deliver what was promised. I am sure that 9000K plus plays hell with even the best vehicles.

You may have done fine with the manual rear gear ratio, but whatever, you have the right truck for your needs now and it's all that matters
    Cheers!

No micro aggression. I would call it like I see it. The Tacoma is great. Just not great at getting there with a camper. Like I said elevation has a lot to do with it. The Tacoma at 1200 feet south Texas, is not the same Tacoma at 11,000 feet.

I agree. The Auto has a 2.90, and the manual has a 3.10? I think the auto would be much better off with a lower gear. I posted that a long time ago. I asked the dealer if I could get the 3.10s and the said no. I would have went that route before the trade.

    4. You want to help out other people who might be planning on towing and are about to drop a lot of money on a Tacoma.

I miss my Tundra in quite a few scenario except one, parking.
