2009 TRD OR DCSB. Every 6 months or so, my radio will turn on, and display garbled nonsense. I haven't been able to duplicate it for the dealer, but I managed to get a picture of it this time. Anyone else dealt with this?

Mine has been doing this for years but mine looks more like hieroglyphics. Only happens on hot days when the truck has been sitting in the sun all day. I have had a few times where any button I press shoots a disc at me. Press another one, another disc comes out. Sometimes if I tap the display pretty hard, it returns to normal. If it doesn't, it comes back eventually.
Edit: mine is from a 2010, 6 disc non-jbl system.

Mine does the same. Will also turn on and off by itself. Will change stations on it's own as well. Possessed :help:

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
There was some sort if a recall on those at one time, what you are seeing isn't all that uncommon. I used to repair GM Delco radios on the side, probably did 500 of them. Because it's temperature related, it's probably a cold joint on a circuit board somewhere.

My 09 does the same thing...when i was in warranty i couldn't replicate at dealer and they wouldn't accept a picture...as the other guy said above, mine only does it on really hot days after sitting the in sun...when i use a windshield visor it doesn't happen.

My volume knob also is screwy and when i try to turn the volume down it turns it up, so i have to use the steering wheel control :(...probably going to get an aftermarket headunit eventually.
