Do you also ensure your purchases at the grocery store and elsewhere are nice even numbers? I used to do the same til I realized barely anything, even at the tax free military exchange, comes it at $XX.00 so why spend the extra time to get the pump zeroed out?

Having seen too many charcoal canisters removed from topping off I'd advise against it, but it's your vehicle and your money.

Ive always thought "topping off" was just waiting 30 sec after the click, and letting it go until it clicks again.

I had no idea people were filling the necks to the fucking brim.

Talk about dangerous/stupid, and potentially damaging....

Dump oil into the engine until it comes out the fill. The more the merrier, right?

Just carry a gas can if you need a few extra gallons or round numbers for your lack of mathematical ability lol. I've never understood why people top off their tanks.

I used to top off my Chevy to the next buck, and I only got a code for too full once. I don't top my Toyota AT ALL. It barely takes any more after the nozzle clicks off, and I have a full fill spout and a mess (it's hard on the paint too).

Just don't do it. It seems the Jap cars like Toyotas and Subarus, really hate it when you top off at all.

Just let the pump click off and walk away :)

I run it right till it spills out. Then if it's not a round number I'll pump some into my right pocket. I also have the gf keep a large zip lock bag in her purse for when we go on longer trips.

When I tried putting gas in a ziplock the bag disintegrated.
