I'm considering upgrading my suspension to fox 2.0 coilovers and rear shocks.
The struts are $429.00 each and the rear shocks are $150.00 each.
I dont do any extreme wheeling but i do run down a lot of dirt roads and fishing trails.
Currently i have Rancho 9000XL quick lift struts and rancho HD w/ aal in rear.
Its ok, but it's a pretty rough and jerky setup. Its smooth and responsive on the highway but i feel each and every bump and pot hole :(
I want a silk smooth ride on and offroad and I've heard a lot of great things about Fox coilovers and shocks.
I will eventually add uca's and lca's w/ 1" uniball joints. But for now I'll start with the fox setup.
$1,200 seems a reasonable fee if, and only if, it yields the desired result.
    Will this do the trick??

A silk smooth ride on and off road does not exist IMO.

Fox 2.0 Coilovers in the front and Fox 2.0’s in the rear, Total Chaos UCA’s, Al-lpro expo leafs, K&N cold air intake, TRD headers,Magnaflow catback exhaust,URD short throw shifter, switched out my 60/40 bench seat for some Tacoma Limited seats, Replaced the vinyl shift boot for a leather one, completely soundproofed the cab w/ Frost King. Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. MX series camper shell. All-Pro Apex front bumper w/ All-Pro skid plates all the way back to the Trans. Low Range fuel skid plate.
^^^ that's not good news aT'all! I was hoping to get some Fox's or Kings in the future and I would feel the difference both on and off road.
I'm in the same boat. I'm just not their yet. A few of my friends went to Moab last year and I wanted to go but with stock front coils and rear Ranchero's My truck wasn't worthy. For now, I'll just have to enjoy the back country gravel roads leading me to some good hiking spots :mudding:

not mid travel. extended travel coilover and uniball uca would be midtravel for 1st gens.

no stock length uniball lcas for these trucks besides "one offs"

never personally compared them but the fox is known to be a much superior shock and youl hear nothing but great things about the ride. you always have the option to revalve them if you dont like the ride. whether thats worth the steep price is up to you.
