I have two sets of speakers in my basement, bought years ago, and never used. Specifically, Infinity Reference model 6032cf, and 6030cs. Here's some links:
I am soon going to own a gen 3 Tacoma AC, and was thinking of installing these speakers in the truck, retaining the stock HU and wiring.

The speakers were designed by Infinity to be "upgrade" units, for use in situations like mine where the stock HU will be retained. You can of course add amps, but that was not the primary goal of the designer of these speakers. The literature I have read on these units indicate that the low impedance combined with the high sensitivity, and the selectable attenuation of the tweeters, makes them ideal for OEM replacement scenarios.

I have a bunch of questions I am hoping some of you audio folks can help me with.

So question one is, should I even bother? This Rav4 thread:
    http://www.rav4world.com/forums/98-...eference-6030cs-im-not-satisfied-outcome.html
does not exactly give a glowing endorsement of the component speakers.

If you do recommend I go for it, then I have more questions.

The 6032cf are physically a drop-in replacement for the rear speakers, but are rated at 2 ohms, and don't know what the stock HU expects. They are 93dB sensitivity, so they should be easy to drive.

The 6030cs consist of a set of 6 3/4" driver (with a 6.5" adaptor), a separate 1" tweeter, and a crossover. I know that I can make or buy a 6x9 to 6.75" adaptor, so fitting them physically will not be a problem. They have the same sensitivity and impedance as the 6032cf, so again I was wondering about the HU requirements for impedance, this time, on the fronts.

The other question I have on the fronts is do leave out the crossover and just replace the speakers and let the stock crossover do its job? It's just a capacitor and the full-range and the tweeter are fed with a single output. Or would you recommend I rewire from the HU forward to incorporate the crossover? I am leaning towards the latter.

PS: I am not looking for a change like "OK" to "WOW". I am looking to clean up the sound a little. I have the speakers already, so the cost to me is just my time. And should I replace the HU in the future, I can use these without having to replace them.

In my first truck I only replaced the speakers and head unit. It sounded better than stock but could've sounded even better with an amp. My current 3rd gen, I replaced the speakers and kept the stock head unit (plus sound deadener in the doors) and it sounded better (replaced the stock JBL speakers with 'better/real' JBL speakers + components). Going to add an LOC and new amp with 10" and sub, hoping to make it sound awesome

And I can't figure out how many ohms the stock speakers are. Know where I can find that out?
