hello tacoma community! Please help . I just bought a 2015 entune stock radio without GPS but it does have traffic and weather if you plug in HD antenna. My tacoma is a 2008 and back then no GPS available for these trucks yet. there is no plug for the old style antenna on this new head unit.I need an HD antenna if anyone has one for sale.

Let me be the first to inform you that the traffic and HD radio features in that radio are worthless. I don't mean to burst your bubble, but others will chime in and agree.....sorry. I personally wouldn't go through the trouble to hook anything up but the radio and the marginal XM part. The entune radio is an over priced crappy radio, many remove them and replace with aftermarket.

I personally have never seen the traffic ap work right in my '14 and the HD is almost nonexistent in many areas. I literally go for days without HD reception, traffic, and weather any time I leave the Pittsburgh metro area. You will get weather in that radio too ... That is on the rare occasion that HD actually has reception.

Thanks for the personal experience. I thought about just buying an adapter ($12.99 Amazon)for the mounted antenna. This will get me am / fm radio ( I'm playing cd's right now ) LOL . The price for HD antenna is steep and I'm not willing to dish out the cash unless I get a used one for the right price. I don't care for the XM mode because I'm only commuting 1 hr per day so I don't have a subscription .Im going this route for now .I will survive without weather and traffic . The entune is a big upgrade from what I had , the original 2 dial silver ugly stock radio. Im trying to keep it as stock as possible . Don't want my TACO broken into.:)

You just need the adapter, you get HD reception through the stock antenna. I have a 2014 radio in my 2005, and I get HD radio everytime I drive.

I read a thread somewhere the HD reception also gives you artist and title with HD antenna on radio broadcast. Now I'm wondering if the adapter route will be minus this feature.

Nope, when you have HD reception, you see all the info on the screen. It is really convenient to have.

an antenna is an antenna it is designed to a frequency, it does not care if it's AM,FM, HD or digital they are all the same to an antenna. The GPS will not work with a broad cast antenna it has to have it's own.
