Finally got around to building that fire pit the wife and kids have been wanting.

Built it on a 4'x4' pad. Dug down 4" and leveled it and covered that with landscaping fabric. Laid down 2" of compacted and leveled paver base (6 bags) and 1" of compacted and leveled paver sand (4 bags). Next were 9 16" pavers to form the base. I locked it in place with some paver restraints all the way around it (don't want any migration). The pit is just 36 Flagstone concrete blocks. I was going to fill it with some lava rock....but saw a 35" metal bowl shaped pit at Lowes on sale for $59. Figured I go with that, 'cause it makes for easy clean up. I just left off the legs.

The Taco was squatin' with all that in the ass end, but handled it just fine.

Not a difficult project mentally....but tough on the ol' back. :(

8 year old eatin' a marshmallow.

The wife and both daughters. I'm takin' the pictures enjoying some Fireball. :proposetoast:

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
It's coming along. I hope to be able to put metal on it next weekend. Pardon the quality, it is a cheap quad.

Before and After. Whoever set this up in the first place had a solenoid and zone for every single sprinkler head. System originally had 3, 9 zone control boxes. I have now condensed things to a single 9 zone box and still have full lawn coverage. WIN.

As the son of a landscaper, picture A hurts my brain a lot. Good job on the fix.

Finished stripping the wallpaper in my den/computer room.

Finished converting the closet back to a closet as it had been converted to a desk/shelving area that wasn't getting any use at all. Fresh paint, kept original shelf & new rod.

And got the new sliding closet doors finished...matched the existing finish fairly well.

All that remains is prepping & painting of walls and new window installation. I'm waiting for September for that as the A/C is installed.

Looks like some contraption to keep a fence post vertical...perhaps when concrete is setting??

Or a template of some sort??

If I throw out enough guesses...I'm bound to be close.

    :D

    Bullding the Rhino fence

The plywood jigs will suspend these 2"x6"x57" steel posts while I pour concrete around them
