Does anyone have anything they use to cover the gap between their tail gate and bed. After shoveling out the bed of gravel the gap was filled with gravel and it was lodged in. I was thinking of ripping a piece of wood and fitting it in there. Any ideas ??

I wondered about this too. When we were redoing out yard, I was hauling soil and riverstone and had the same problem. I though about making a folding cover using sheet metal and a piano hinge. Using the same bolts that are used to mount the plastic cover to the inside of the tailgate along the bottom edge. Tailgate closed, cover folds at the hinge- tailgate open, cover lays flat from under the plastic liner to the top of the bed itself. There would have to be a slight bend in the lower part so that it lays flush on the bed, but that's what I came up with. I didn't really think about it too hard though, but it might work.

If you have to get another load and can leave the tailgate down I'd lay a rubber sheet or some 1/4" plywood or even paneling he length of the bed plus tailgate.

Or just take the tailgate off(remember to disconnect camera wire if equipped).

The Bed Rug fills that gap. But it's carpet - not sure if you want that in a work truck.

When I lifted the gate to loosen the gravel I could hear it grinding. I know it's the bottom of the gate but deep scratches lead to rust ???????

Don't have a taco yet, but I used a cheap harbor freight tarp and cut it too fit the bed with a little overhang over tailgate. I then folded it up for the trip home so no rocks spilled. After getting what I could out with the shovel I pulled the tarp out and drug to my spot and dumped tarp. Was easy and cheap, trashed it when done. 10 bucks total

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
You could always go to the hardware store and buy a stick of that round celluloid pipe insulation for a buck or two and stuff it in the crack.

Open the tailgate and apply duct tape, then close it and fill with loose stuff.

Okay TW, one day, just one day I would like to check in to this site without finding something else I now need to buy:annoyed:. We need an emoji with money flying out of a wallet. Anyway, I need one of these gap fillers. I got several loads of mulch and found it got into the tailgate, I could see it in the drains. I took the cover off to clean it out and it was full of junk just waiting to start rusting. Washed it all out and sprayed it down with undercoat.

Lay down a tarp that's big enough to cover pass the tailgate when it's down. Makes cleaning up easier.

Maybe take the tailgate off when you unload it? Just an idea.

This is actually really cool if you were to use the truck in this type of hauling application often.

I was having the same issue the OP was having. Might have to try it out come next spring. Interested to see how well it works.

This is what I do. No need to buy anything new or fancy, just use an old tarp or blanket. Your square nose may catch a few times when you're scraping close to the bottom but it's not a big deal.
