Long time lurker, 1st time poster. I acquired an access cab 2.7L about 2 years ago, and it quickly it became apparent the previous owner gave the A/C a quick charge before putting the ol' ad up craigslist and I took her for a test drive. Joke is on him, I kept is 30ft Stanley tape measure he left in the jump-seat's center console, and the clip-on sunglasses in the overhead.

Next summer the A/C was blowing warm, so I recharged it only to have to problem return at the end of the summer.

This summer I got smart and put the A/C dye in it with the recharge and got a nice kit with the UV light and handsome looking eyeware.

(Side note, not sure the Interdynamics "Multi-shot" leak detector dye is a great option. The instructions say to press the can down on the low-side port for 3 seconds, but there is no way to tell if the dye actually went into the system, so I did about 3, 3 second shots, cause hey, why not. Never found where that dye went)

I ended up with a 12oz of R134 with the dye in it, added that to the system until the low-side pressure was in the correct range. A few weeks later, I see some green dye around the A/C compressor case. Interestingly, not around or behind the pulley, but in an area just behind that. Looks like a gasket between the "head" and "body" of the A/C compressor.

Anyone else find a leak in this area? I'm not 100% sure as some of the surface oxidization on the AL parts lights up under the UV light, but this area is distinctly green. Sounds like I'm in for a new pump?

Thanks for any input, - Jim

edit - Doh', this should have gone to the 2nd gen forum, many apologies.....
