Anyone here have bugs or buggies with transaxles and have experience rebuilding them or know someone who does? I have a 1970 karman ghia that needs a type 1 trans rebuilt and want to weld 3rd and 4th as well as upgrade the ring and pinion to 4.37 or 4.88 but there is almost too many companies out there that do it, so it's hard to narrow down which are the cheapest (on the back end) and which are best (best bang for buck or longevity). I would rather keep it under $800 for the whole rebuild and upgrade. Tossing it up between rancho and transaxle engineering. But would love some TW input if there are other options and any experience to share would be great!
