Sumimasen is simply excuse me, so if you are trying to get someones attention or feel like you are interrupting or bothering someone than use it. Always use say arigato or simply dumo for short in a casual environment. A small bow is also very respectful if someone has helped you (like getting you unlost). You may not pick up on how respectful most people are being to you because you won't understand 99 percent of what they are saying but they are actually bein very friendly.

Also many people in Japan do speak at least some broken English but are often too embarrassed to try. If you are lost at least try to communicate and the Japanese will go out of their way to help you.

Yes. Just about anything you want. Most places carry a variety of food. For some reason the Japanese seem to have a love of Italian food so often you will often see pasta dishes, etc. Most places have a plastic mock up of each dish on the menu in the window do you can always point to what you want.

Make sure you try some of the vending machines too. They are everywhere. I would kill for a Georgia coffee right now. Canned coffee from a vending machine is very popular and it is awesome both hot and cold.

And you can't go wrong ordering a beer since the Japanese word is bier

A little of this and a little of that.
I really enjoy Tokyo! Like many others have said, it's clean, safe, and the Japanese people are friendly.

Let us know what you thought of your trip to Tokyo.
