Ive always liked the looks of a Tacoma but have not been able to buy one due to the stuff I generally use a truck for, hauling ect. Now, the time is here that I could get away with a Taco because my work has changed. I currently have a 2016 Ram 2500 with the Cummins and am considering trading this in towards a 2016 Tacoma Sport or Off road.

Ive read the common issues that these trucks are having and now that we are nearing the end of 2016, do most of these issues seem to be less and less with the 2017s coming out soon?

Ive been offered $38k for my truck and thats around the same price as the Tacomas I am looking at. Here are the two in question that I am considering:
    http://www.heywardallentoyota.com/inventory/2016/Toyota/Tacoma/GA/Athens/5TFCZ5AN2GX038261/

    http://shop.autonationtoyotamallofg...coma-trd-sport-buford-ga-id-5tfdz5bnxgx012364

Prices are dang near the same on the two and the dealers are not showing any interest in budging at all. How are these prices looking compared to what you all are seeing?

I put about 30k miles on a truck per year and spend a lot of time on the highway as well as in the woods. I think the smaller truck would be nice in the woods but I am kind of worried about loosing the amount of room I have in the 2500.

I came from a full size to a Tacoma as I wanted to get something smaller for everyday use, bought a double cab short box, I like it a lot but can't figure out how a vehicle looks so big but has so little room in it, its a fine magic trick, like the opposite of a tardis

When we go out as a family we jump in the 4runner mostly, the tacoma drives better on the highway than the 4runner though

I want from an F250 to my '16 Tacoma. LOVE IT. If you do any serious off roading, skip the sport and get the Off Road. Crawl Controls is the sh*t.

My wheeling days are pretty light now. Left up to dirt roads with mud and some rocky FS trails. I had an 03 Rubicon and took care of the hard stuff in in haha

take the trip to Colchester Toyota and you can get whatever truck you want at invoice minus 100 bucks. You can call them and do the deal right over the phone, they send you the paperwork, then you come get the truck when it is ready. They actually offer legit invoice minus 100. You can compare all the numbers they give you with the "what did you pay thread." If you pay msrp instead of invoice you are paying thousands more.

    Hey

My brother has the same setup up as you. And to be honest as much as my brother likes the look of my truck , I know in actuality he could never be happy owning my truck.

For him it would be like owning a 3000 sq foot house, down sizing to a condo.

The cummins is a great engine. So is a Toyota, don't get me wrong. But your right foot might hate you making this trade. The 3.5 has power high up, not low down like your used to.

If I where you, I'd test drive a truck at every dealership around your place to get the most seat time possible, before committing.

Good luck with your Tough decision!

You are very correct about the power! I honestly thought something was wrong with the first Tacoma I drove due to how much gas petal it actually took to get going.
