Do I need to actually wash my truck when removing bugs or could I use a spray wax and wipe off without actually doing the wash?

I'd use a waterless wash if your intent is to remove bugs without washing the whole truck. They will have better lubricity than spray wax. Use it liberally.

Here are a few good waterless products: (The Meguiars should be available locally)

AG also sells a bunch of them in concentrate-- you can mix up as you go. Much more cost effective. Wolfgang Uber is AWESOME. Or you could use a bug-specific product like this and finish with a detail spray or spray wax. To be honest, you could just use a microfiber with soapy water, rinse, and spray wax when you're done.

A note about the Uber concentrate--
It's a rinseless wash, waterless wash, detail spray, drying aid... All rolled into one. You just mix it at different ratios for different uses. The gloss it leaves is amazing.

Yep. It's my new favorite product due to its versatility. Plus it looks amazing. Super glossy and in my experience it enhances beading of whatever sealer you're using.
