Its because the camera is not centered in the center of the tailgate, its offset a few inches!

Yes I realize that, however the alignment marks on the lens that show in blue have ALWAYS aligned with the trailer ball on previous Toyota trucks I have owned.

Same here...always lined-up in the past...Tundra was ALWAYS spot-on. I'll try this out on my new Taco in the next few days and report any alignment issue here. hmmm...

The dealer is checking with tech help,no other problems that they are aware of,I trust this service advisor as I have done business with her for about 20 years.

That is quite a bit. Enough to lose your tail light, that's for sure.

And I'm to old to be getting in and out of the truck to keep checking alignment.

Is the hitch ball not visible in the camera's field of view?

i guess he's talking about the blue lines when you are aligning to park in a tight spot or aligning to a trailer...

I'm talking about the CENTER blue line that aligns with the hitch ball and (supposed) to align with the trailer receiver.

Mine is maybe an inch off at most (the center line). Still lines up on the hitch ball and I can back right under the trailer. Wonder if the camera can be adjusted somehow?

Why does it matter? If you can see the hitch ball and the trailer receiver in the camera image, just line them up visually. :notsure:

I don't look at the center line in the display. I look at the ball and the coupler and haven't had any problems.

My whole display is shifted at an angle to the passenger side. I noticed it the first time I was backing out of my driveway. Was using the passenger side mirror, looked up at the camera to check surroundings and noticed it showed I was in the grass on the passenger side. Looked out passenger mirror, I had about 6" of clearance.

I honestly only use the thing to see how close I am to something behind me. I hardly use a trailer so I can't speak on the blue center line. I've honestly never noticed it on mine, Ill have to look here in a minute.
