I've got a 2014 DCSB manual transmission. Love the truck, but every time I push the clutch pedal, it sounds like a squeaky barn door.

I've taken it to Toyota twice.

The first time they told me it wasn't squeaking.

The second time the mechanic just sprayed it with some Silicone spray and it quit squeaking for about 15,000 miles.

Now it is back and the spray doesn't seem to have any effect on the noise.

    Driving me batty!

    Please help!

    Jeff

My 2015 started creaking right after purchase so I used some dielectric grease up in the pivot points and it was squeak free up until the past couple weeks. I picked up some high temp disc brake grease and lubed the pivot points today and it feels and sounds much better, hoping that since its high temp it will last much longer.

    Too few to list.
Haven't seen a 2nd gen clutch pedal in a while but if it's anything like the 1st gen, the plastic bushings wear out or crack on the springs and produces the squeak.

Common complaint here with the manual tranny. There are a couple of lubrication points that can cause the noise. Just have to determine if its coming from inside the cabin or outside.

Here are some threads that talk about it and some possible solutions:

Thank you all for the feed back.

I will try the spray and go from there.

Thanks to everybody who replied...I sprayed everything down the other night with no results, but I sprayed the plunger rod/piston area with the clutch halfway pressed last night and BINGO! Finally, no squeaks!

    Good to hear!

Weird thing that happened to me after I sprayed my clutch spring assembly down with the lubricant....the loud creak went away completely but now there's this 'pop' sensation in the pedal whenever I press it down. Sometimes it's pretty severe, most times it's minor...sometimes it goes away then comes back later. Not sure what I did to cause that with the lubricant, but at least it doesn't sound like a creaky castle drawbridge anymore.

Does your's have that popping sensation now or no?

No man. Mine is smooth as butter now.

I love my truck, but I must admit, that clutch was really bugging me.

That's good, yeah when mine was creaking it was super annoying. It was so bad that my girlfriend would refuse to ride in my truck lol.

FYI: There is a service bulletin addressing this issue, calls for a new master cylinder and pedal lever. At the end of the push rod, there is a ball bearing, which fits into a cup in the lever. The bulletin includes an updated part with a larger ball and cup. I don't recall what model year started shipping with the updated parts.

The updated parts are NOT a perfect fix, but they are better. The squeak comes from the same place -- the contact point between the ball and the cup. The ultimate solution is to have the update parts, and lubricate the connection point with a heavy lubricant, like BEARING GREASE.

I just started having this issue with my 2014 DCSB OR. I have about 32k miles on it.

I remember my 2009 squeaking as well. It was the piston/rod and that did the trick. It comes squeak came back eventually though.

The dealer sprayed some silicon on it about a year ago and it hasn't squeaked since. I've heard this fix can be hit or miss. Good Luck.
