For those of you who maybe getting their license soon, I am willing to help with radio's and such. I live in the Sacramento area. I have a mobile and home setup. If you purchase either the Yaesu FT-8800 or FT-60, I can show you how to use and be able to program them for you.

If anyone wants their new BaoFeng handhelds programmed, I'll be at the @Tee Arghhhhhh Dee meat meet at the Back Forty in Pleasant Hill tomorrow for lunch. Shoot me a PM if you are able to make it there and I'll be sure to bring the laptop.

I'd probably look into SDR solutions for digital voice. I'm not happy with DStar, System Fusion, or DMR.

Are you using a Baofeng specific cable or a Serial port to whatever radio?
