    Hi Guys,

I have a 2013 DCLB SR5 PreRunner. I am getting new tires and rims soon and would like some opinions on what to purchase. I want to get either the KO2 or the KM2s. I plan on getting a 4" Maxtrac Spindle lift as well as a 3" HS AAL lift in the back after the tires and wheels. I am currently thinking about getting 16" Rims with 265/75/R16 tires. I want to know if you think this would be a good combination of lift/rim size/ tire size and which tire would be best. Also, if you think I should go for 17inch rims, please tell me the benefits! I want to avoid trimming and CMC as I do not have the tools. I do not have mudflaps.

Thank you in advanced for your help!

Here is a pic of her for ya:

17" wheels will allow you to run load range C KO2's (265/70/17). That right there is enough for me to make to switch from 16's. You can only get KO's in load range E for a 16" wheel which is silly for a Tacoma, load C is perfect and much lighter. I don't understand running mud terrains on a 2 wheel drive truck that wont see mud either.

I voted KO2 in the poll but if I were a 2wd truck, I would run Michelin MS2's or the new Defenders.

    Hi @karmatp,

Thanks for the info. I like the aggressive look of the KO2s more than the defenders. Is the difference between load E and C great?

I get it, I have KO2's on my 4Runner and it looks amazing and drives so smooth down the road. I do like to explore the trails of AZ so it is perfect for me.

The difference is about 8lbs per tire which is significant, you can tell a huge difference in mpg's, ride comfort and acceleration. Load range C is really perfect for our vehicles, load range E is more a full size, heavy towing load tire with super stiff sidewalls.

If you are buying new rims anyway, and want to run KO2's, all I can recommend is to look at 265/70/17 load range C KO2's on 17" wheels instead of buying 16's and having to run load range E.
