It comes with a disc with the software, and you need to have a serial to usb cable and driver...
Basically you are remapping the TPS for more or less fuel...
If you add an intake or exhaust you need to remap, even a stock truck will benefit from mapping...
He has instructions you can read on pdf... maybe search google.....
The supplied map is good but really tame for every day use and it's a good starting point...
raising a few tenths makes a big difference.... from 10.1 to 10.3 ect...

Gadet@urd will have a map for long tube headers...
But you will definitely pick up some power with a good tune...
With Toyota we are kind of on our own for tuning but I think there is a Toyota shop in your area....
Just change 1 area at a time by a few tents at a time....

True doing this yourself is not all that difficult to do, but I think for a regular guy who doesn't know anything about this stuff messing with the tune on your own is asking for trouble. Call up Gadget and have him help you with a better premade map or at the very least get yourself some scanning tools to monitor what is going on with the truck. This isn't something you want to do blind.

Load in the form of voltage... MAF voltage......
You can watch the map in live mode and you can see under power what part of the map you are using...
At cruising speed you are around 1.3 - 1.4 volts and normal acceleration around 2-2.5 volts, full throttle around 3.5 volts...

I'm thinking he means the tuner. Lots of people don't distinguish between the two.

    Read through this whole thing...

So what I got from this is the BD tuner does not do much of anything for a naturally aspirated vehicle. +10HP at most?

But for a supercharged truck, there are some gains to be had.

I see a lot of people upset about the original $800 price tag for the HP gains... Now that these are priced at $400, and available used for $200 everywhere, has anyone had any luck with with a NA truck? Any new tunes available? Any luck at custom tuning?

No luck on custom tuning where I am at. Nobody seems to want to touch a Toyota ECU. As for the bullydog, I tried it and it was useless. I'm stock with an intake and it does hardly anything. It's a fancy guage cluster. I went to a pretty high end performance shop and they said bullydog is a joke for gas vehicles. For BigRigs and diesels they are good. If you want a good tuner you would want an Edge tuner, only problem is they don't make those for Toyota. Your only tuning options are basically an aftermarket ecu or the URD Ucon which I have heard very good things about. Go to URD's website to check that one out before anything. Hope this helped
