Have we come to an agreeable consensus on which grease to use for the zerks and the procedure for how to apply?

My manual says NLGI #1 for Front drive shaft thrust bushings, NLGI #2 for the spiders on the propellar shafts, and NLGI #2 moly for the slide yolk and double cardan joint.

I was at Toyota recently picking up some parts and I asked about this and the sales manager said they just use AMSOIL Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease NLGI #2 for all zerks on all vehicles that come in. Any thoughts on this? I cant even find out if that stuff is lithium based.

Sorry if this is a repeated question here, but Ive done a lot of searching and im unable to find a straigut forward answer.

    Yup. One grease for all.

The second gens are speced the same way, and nobody follows it including the dealers.

    NLGI #2 everywhere. :)
