I'm struggling to see the logic in this...if the helicopter was kept in perfect condition by the mechanic then how would the simple act of using the helicopter for its intended purpose damage it... It's not like the pilot is taking the helicopter off road and bashing some whoops and then coming back to he mechanic and saying " umm yeah I have no idea why everything is lose and dirty ? "

Seems like it is far more likely that the mechanic missed something ?:boink:

You have obviously no experience with helicopters especially large ones, or the ego of a pilot.

And the whoops and dirty comment, work on a helicopter that fights fire on top of that with a machine that has a grease style rotor head with over 162 zerk fittings that takes about 2 gallons of grease every 8 hours of flight.... I wonder where it all goes lol

Yeah that totally sounds like the pilots fault, I bet he crawls up there and sucks all the grease out on purpose just to mess with you

It was a 5 lug Taquito kit that was in an accident. The upprs were toast as well as the spindles.

A starter bender.......is a complete waste of money...... Notcher, get crafty with a grinder, it's not that hard just takes a while

Hahah yeah but I'd rather spend the money on something right the first time and not have to "get crafty" lol.

I have an Eastwood notcher and I couldn't be happier with it. ALso suggested it to Ryan, @Shmellmopwho and he has one too.
    http://www.eastwood.com/professional-tubing-notcher.html
There are cheaper options out there and I started with and angle grinder too, but the amount of time saved using this also saves headaches. I would call this a "middle-of-the-road" notcher. Eastwood also has an entry level notcher for around $70.

Not sure about benders, but I've had my eye on a JD2, Model 3:

I just got an ol joint jigger to replace my hf notcher. The joint jigger is worth the $150. All parts are replaceable as they wear out.

Tube bender is a jd squared model 3 with a swag Off road hf ram jack. I welded the stand and added some casters she tucks right in the back of the garage. No bolting down. Wanna say about $700 to put together with die. There is a vertical one around, but I'm partial to the horizontal benders. It's fast as long as your air compressor can keep up.

And a jd32 bender with the swag hydro conversion on castors is the way to go for tube bending
