Sooooo. We have active F1 and NASCAR threads. I wonder if there were a '17 INDYCAR thread next year, would it be total crickets all season?

Also, any of you guys hitting any CUP races this Fall? My schedule and budget are real tight, so I can't travel more than four hours away for an event. I'm thinking about Talladega or Bristol. Bristol might be too soon and too hot. I like April & October races.

I was thinking Dega as well. Would love to do Bristol night race but that 8hr. drive is a bummer!

Didn't catch that last part last nite, reread and almost blew beer outta my nose. Funny shit!!

Very possible. I would really like to check out the Barber Track in B'ham. I have some friends who have done driving schools there. I would like to see the antique motorcycle museum!

It's a gorgeous facility. I call it the racing enthusiast's dream track. The track is built into the natural terrain with great sight lines. I've been three times for INDYCAR races. I haven't hit the museum yet.

Yeah. But it's dirt, so if the grip isn't on the outside wall, Larson will have a long night. ..

Looks like Junior may be out the next few races. Axalta/Gordon in the next two, I'm sure sponsors will determine who will drive the 88 if it goes beyond that and I'm sure thats why Bowman drove this past weekend.

Really disappointed in the showing for the Racing Challange thread. Still enjoyed the race but hated to see Pierce get beat. Almost had the Trifecta.

Off topic but pretty cool, this is my neighbor that lives about a mile down the road, Bad-ass 5.3 liter twin tubocharged Vortec:

I'll go ahead and call INDY: Kyle Larson wins.

(I have a feeling he'll wind up at Hendrick sooner or later.)

I remember sadler and stewart getting into a wreck. Smoke was being interviewed on tv about it and stewart said "that wreck was totally my fault, I should know that I should never ever be close to sadler when he is in a race car".

Looks like about 200 in attendance at INDY today:

    https://youtu.be/7nPYSWMqCog

I read somewhere this week how the Brickyard 400 is hardly turning a profit these days. The speedway saw high attendance for the 500 and they had to put up $$ from that race to help the 400 happen. Even with such dismal attendance at INDY, it's reported to be one of the top 8 races in NASCAR record attendance for 2015. I don't get it. The racing is GREAT this season but each race posts record low ratings. NASCAR doesn't even release attendance numbers anymore because they're so low but if the TV angles don't lie, the intermediate speedways are a tough sell these days. meanwhile, old school tracks like Martinsville and Darlington are doing great, even if the ratings are low.
