Ooh, I see you have experience with both the Bighorns and the ST Maxx tires in 255/85/16. What are your opinions on both? I have been leaning more to the coopers because they seem to last longer from what I've read.

Maxxis are definitely a great MT and coopers are a great AT. Depends on what you want from your tire honestly. Apples to oranges on that.

not to defer you from getting the Bighorns.. And it may be because of my ignorance, but I have torn 2 sidewalls on them in the past month. It might be because i didnt air down on a rocky trail.

My next choice is definitely the ST Maxx's. I found a place that have 5 shipped for $1052.

I wheeled the maxxis tires several times and never had the first issue. Plus one of your sidewall tears was directly caused by the installer running a bar into it and gouging the hell out of it. That can happen to any tire.

Also THE ST Maxx's are not any lighter than the bighorns. So it's going to take some power for either one to turn.

Again, the maxxis was an excellent MT tire for me and the coopers have been a great AT tire for me. Main thing that should make your decision is do you want an AT or an MT?

Not airing down on the dirt is never a good idea. Even if its a dirt road the washboard on road pressures with bounce you all over.

Might as well be. Haven't put more than about 2000 miles on it this year.
