I'm probably going to replace my tires before winter. I'm almost entirely highway driving so I'm street tires. I've had ms2's and Toyo at2's and both were fine. The ms2's were great but expensive, the lowest price I've been able to find for them is nearly $900. In looking around I found the continentals seem to get good reviews but couldn't find anybody with a Tacoma who had them. I can get them for under $700. Thoughts or suggestions welcome.

I had MS2's. If I were going to run a street tire again I wouldn't do anything but them. You get what you pay for!

I know the ms2's are good but I really can't afford $800 or $900 tires. I'm also thinking of the cooper srx tires, a local shop can install them for about $600 total and they've got a 70,000 mile warranty. Reviews seem to like them a lot.

I have coopers and love them, take a look at the cooper htp. Gets good ratings and has long tread life, and you can find them for around 125 a tire.

I recently removed Continentals from my Camry and they lost me as a customer. Tread wear was absolutely terrible, but the warranty is even worse. Continental is the only tire company that I know of that if you have an 80,000 mile tire like I did, that was toast in 24,000, you have to send it back to them for evaluation and they will "let you know" what they will reimburse you. It's been 2 months since I replaced my tires and still no word what warranty money I will get back! With anyone else but them, you get your warranty money on the spot and apply it to your new tires. The only good side about Continental warranty, is that if and when I get money back, I can use it to buy some other brand of tire, and that I indefinately will do!

    I'll never own Continentals again!

I would still recommend the Michelin MS2 - my experience is less cost per mile, mine have all been very close to the warranty miles. How many miles did you get out of MS2's before ?

Not sure of the model name Continentals came stock on my 2008 Ranger, within 8000 miles one failed, non warranty they said. Bot 2 Michlein LTX ms2, got a junk wheel, put one of the continentals on it, making myself a full size spare, put both Micheliens on the Ford. By 25K another failed and bot 2 more ms2s.....ran the thing to 56K, sold it, the 2 from the 8K replacement still looked new. Bot the Taco in 2013 have 36K on it, will replace with ms2s when needed.....check the customer reviews on Tire Rack or Discount Tire and, going from memory, the Dunlop AT 20s will have about a 40% would buy again rating and no more than 5 or 6 out of 10 on all other factors, ride, wet traction, dry traction, comfort, noise, etc. Check the Michlien ms2 it will have about a 92% will buy again, and 8-10 ratings on the individual factors. (Tho not ms2, put Michlien Harmony's on 2005 camry after 60K still would pass inspection, but replaced them just because I thought wife would be more safe with more tread, not planning to keep the car long enuf to wear down Michliens went with Coopers CS5, after 5K so far so good but not as smooth as the Mich. Harmony).......you get what you pay for
