    Hi everyone

I have a 3rd gen tacoma with the jbl audio package.
lately i have been having alot of issues with the stereo.
It will randomly shut off and then restart when driving no matter if i am on xm, fm, am or bluetooth. Anyone else having problems like this?

Totaled but still alive! Frame 2.0, Fog lights anytime, Seatbelt reminder delete, Secondary air filter delete, LED bed lights, Running boards, 2017 Rims, Ultra gauge, Cup holder/consol/glove compartment lights, Interior LED conversion, Blue Sea aux. fuse panel, fuse panel mounting plate by Yotamac, ProEFX heated towing mirrors, LED engine bay lights, Redline Quicklift Elite hood struts, Wet Okole Heated Seat Covers,m, Rear bumper 2.0, Decal free visors, Washable cabin air filter, Overhead consol auto dimming override switch, BulletProof Fabricating Skid plate, 2lo module.
Sounds like a loose relay or connection supplying power to the stereo under the hood. If you don't spot anything obvious I would take it to the dealership. Assuming your still under warranty.
Just my first thought, good luck

There has been threads about this before. Some members have got a replacement radio. Others only did it for a while and stopped. Best to take it in to have them look at it. Might even be a software update now. I heard someone talk about it but wasn't sure if it was actually released yet

My 06 does the same thing. Had the dealership replace the whole unit and today it still does this about twice a year. I just live with it.

Mine does the same thing. It will either randomly shut off or if I press a button anywhere near the power button it will shut off.

Damn Toyota this was noted in the gen2 and the same thing has reared its ugly head in the gen3. It is not the stereo it is in the wiring harness

So they went ahead and replaced the stereo but this did not solve the issue. They have already looked at all of the electrical components and can not find the problem. This is extremely irritating I can not even go for a long drive without the stereo giving me problems. Any other suggestions??

There is a update coming that fixes it. A Toyota field technician may or may not have installed it in my truck for me to be a test subject. It has worked and I no longer have the random shut downs. Again you didn't here it from me. ;)
