Funny you say that.. I was just watching videos. John Bull trail looks pretty intense. I feel like I almost have to have skids before going though. :notsure:

I'd have to talk to the girls about camping. I'm not that set up for camping at the moment. Figured that a tent on sand is easy, but rocky dirt can get really uncomfortable, really quick. I don't mind but I know the girls would.

Dang wish I could've joined you guys today, the smoke from the fire adds a certain 'awe' factor to the footage....also makes it look less hot than it probably really was, lol.

What is this about Big Bear and possibly camping I'm hearing? :boink: End of this month or next?

I have a bunch of camping stuff I can borrow from family members and share with anyone that might need it. Would like to get a tent setup for the truck one day....one day.

Ya, you're gonna want more than 33's to run John Bull. Body damage is probable.

John Bull is rated as one of the most difficult trails in California. High clearance and 4x4 (of course), skids, and sliders strongly recommended. Count me in. I wouldn't be able to do the 30th though.

That whole weekend is shot for me. Realistically, my weekends are shot till mid/late August due to a wedding and work.

As far as a big bear trail book, this book has a few.

And if you hit the ranger station either off hwy 38 or the discovery center at the top of mountain (north side of the lake) you can snatch a free map and the rangers and/or volunteers will be happy to mark countless trails for you to explore from sight seeing fire roads to John Bull. Very knowledgeable crew.

you guys should watch some vids of John Bull before you attempt. Definitely need full armor. I am missing a couple skids so I'm out till I get em.
