I know it's still too soon to be hopeful for forced induction but are any companies working on a programmer or programming the 3rd gen? Any idea if it will have to be a piggy back or can the ECU be broken?

It seems like there is a lot of untapped potential when compared to other similar Toyota / Lexus engines.

True, but there are at least options for the second gen even if it's simply a blower and the factory remap, a lot of companies seem to be jumping on the 16 hard, I suppose by Toyotas track record they know that it will be around ten or more years so it would be good business to start early....I just hope that some tuning capability comes up. The HP and torque surges are all over the place...

You don't need a programmer for that...

I'll almost gaurentee you won't see a programmer for these truck. There's too much that can be effected with the Otto to Atkins cycle my guess would be most companies would steer away from it. Plus Toyota has done a good job of locking the ECU and for good reason

This is kind of disappointing. I would like to see this truck get up to 300 hp and definitely some more torque.

I agree, I'm pretty sure some company will step up. This tech is new to the tacoma but many other makes have the same tech And programmers are available for them.
