I've removed the three front bolts and the two rear. I also removed the rear skid plate extension by taking out its two bolts. But the skid plate won't budge. How does it come out? Should I be pulling downward on it? I beat the hell out of it with a rubber mallet, but all that did was make the neighbor's dog go nuts.

Thanks. I tried that. I pushed and pounded it toward the front with a rubber mallet. It did not budge.

there are two more bolts in the middle you have to remove. They are about 3'' up in two holes.

There are 2 more in the middle of the skid plate in addition to the two holding the rear extension

I believe there are 2 more bolts (on mine anyway). 3 in the front , 2 in the middle way in there and 2 at the rear holding the back plate on. Keep lookin. I have a total of 7.

I removed all 7. The rear plate fell off easily. I gave up on the front and reached the oil filter from above. Now I'm trying to remember how the rear plate goes back on.
