    So, we begin again.

Since my beloved 2013 seen here was taken from me by an inattentive driver, I'm building a new truck.

Since it's got a mash-up of 2G and 3G parts, Pro, Baja and otherwise, I'm calling this one my Broja.

Hey Mikey, I was just curious if you could tell me where you got all your lights for your back to the future build. I want to build mine like that!

Sorry to hear about your old rig, the new one looks awesome though, and good choice on the manual!

I wish I could, but I think funds are going to be working against me this time. It was easier before I was married, owned a house, etc, etc. I've got the set of wheels waiting once I wear out the stock tires and I'll do a little here and there, but I highly, highly doubt I'll be lifting this one.

The light bar is N-Fab. At the time I got it, it was special order only, but I believe they now sell it to the general public. The lights on that bar are KC Daylighters in long range configuration, bought from Amazon. The front bumper is ARB, obviously with IPF 900XS driving lights.

That's the goal. Hopefully as time passes I'll have things to update!

Hey after you removed the decals (which I plan to do), did you do anything special in regards to waxing or protecting? I was told that once the stickers are removed, it is essentially just bare paint in those spots.

I didn't, I just went over it with some clay. The decals are applied post-paint so the truck should already be painted/cleared. I need to hit it with some Collinate 845 before winter to prep the truck, but otherwise I left it.

We have pretty mild winters here in Germany.. so I don't plan to do any crazy prep work, but I will run some clay over it after pulling the stickers off.

The clay just removes any adhesive the remover wheel (or other methods) leaves behind. It can't hurt to hit it with some wax.

When you replaced the shift knob, did you put a black washer on top of the chrome piece that tops off the boot?

Once you remove the OEM knob and get something else the shift boot will start to slouch. The problem is that the chrome insert is wider than the shift lever, so it will move around and click against the lever. To solve that, I purchased this grommet from Home Depot. You trim one side of it so that it almost looks like the shape of a mushroom. The top will be wide enough to cover the chrome piece leaving a very finished ring. You cut the bottom so that it can wedge into the chrome insert. You then force the grommet and boot down so that the rubber grommet hole fits tight against the lever. Once complete your setup will look like mine.

    Good luck!

So, in exciting news, I've developed my master plan for the truck. I'm saving up at a pathetically slow rate, but I'm getting there. So here's what I see :

    - Purchased the TRD Pro Suspension
    - Headstrong / Wheelers or Icon AAL
    - 265/75-16 BFG tires
    - ECGS bushing (?)
    - TRD Pro Fog Lamps
    - Warn semi-hidden winch bumper
    - TRD Pro skid plate (if it works with the Warn bumper)
    - OEM 2G running boards (the black plastic kind) or the 3G aluminum boards
    - Leer / ARE basic cap

I'm looking forward to saving up and checking things off my list. At only $20-25 / week I'll be saving for years to make this work.

Since February, I've done quite a bit, which is exciting.

I finally got the truck clean and for fun I threw on a set of retro 4WD graphics on the rear mudflaps.

Prepped for winter. I added the OEM TRD Pro skid, which outside of being on the fence on the red letters, but I like otherwise.
