It took about one full can maybe a little more. I can't say for sure because I used up a couple of partial cans I had on the shelf in the garage.

Not sure how many coats it did, but it was a lot. I kept spraying until it had a nice uniform look in direct sunlight.

You're right about the timing. You should wait 15 mins between coats and at least 25 minutes to allow it all to completely dry. It peels much more cleanly if you allow it to dry properly.

    This guy does good tutorials.

I have a 2009 Tacoma TRD Off Road Barcelona Red. My original alloys are blistering and peeling. What color would you all suggest to dip my rims in after I clean them up of the flaking of the clear coat. Thought about going back to aluminum, but am open to suggestions. Will be my first thing dipping. Also, what color for the badges would you recommend?
    Thank!

They have metallic colors if you wanted to do aluminum/chrome/etc but I'd say just do black. It looks really good. I like chrome so I haven't done my badges or wheels but I did a lot of other stuff and love the contrast. I know some red trucks that have done black on red and it looks awesome (I may be bias since my alma mater was black and red but that is beside the point)...

When doing your wheels, get some decks of cards and just line the lip with them. If you can get the large cards (usually for kids) it will help but any card will do. It's a lot easier than tape. I did this method for my hood scoop and it made clean up so easy

That aluminum plastidip looks just like stock alloy color. I did mine black but wife's car I'm going to use aluminum and make them look like brand new stock wheels. Just depends on whatcha want. Stock look or black.
The bottom picture is stock wheels that flaked got sanded and the top left corner got that aluminum dip. You can see there isn't much difference from stock color.

I tried to dip my emblems on my 04 tacoma today. Had trouble with the tailgate ones because it seems they sit closer to the body and have no separation like the ones on the doors. Tried it twice and some peeled off the letters. Any tips?

Ya toothpick, and try to pull the plasti away and downward its a really tedious process. It took me way more time than i wanted and I still had a few imperfections upon removal. Those emblems are rubbery and flush if you want to go another option you could debadge and order black vinyl decal emblems to replace it.IMG_3079.jpg

Are ya'll taping the fender flares? I did a couple of mine seeing how long it would look good and replacing the trim that had come loose. I want to touch up those 2 and get the other 2 flares done but would rather not take off. How are you taping the flares? It takes forever

1 can ... i think it was $5.97 at WalMart. Also if i was to spray anything again with it i would buy the can gun shown at bottom of this page .. easier than using finger

How well does dip, if used in spray gun, clean up? Will I need to dedicate a sprayer just for this stuff?
