I got the custom splice diamond rope for the same winch as yours. Was $140 for 125' of 5/16. And it had good reviews from pirate. Im cheap and dont see the need for a fancy hook or prolink so just going to use a puck to keep the hook from going into the fairlead or clip it to something. Will be more out of the way that way. Dont want anything else hanging off the front of mine.

Just waiting for a big box from low range which has my fairlead to spool it up.

EDIT: Whoops sorry thought you had the warn winch. But the custom splice line will still work.

    Exactly what I was imagining!
I do have a Warn. XD9000i, same as you. We talked over in the winch thread last week or so. Have you gotten your rope on the winch yet?

Sitting somewhere between 22.75" and 22.5". Driveway is uneven, so it hard to tell.

Don't know if you've already answered this, but do you hit your reservoirs at all? Ride height? Full droop? Stuffed? Been considering getting reservoirs on my Icons.

They havent hit yet but i also havent done any serious offroading. I also have skinny tires with 3.5 bs that pushes it away.

I'd probably hit then being that I'm on 4" BS and 12.5" wide tires.

Awesome build. I picked up a 1st gen and have been thread stalking all of you 1st gen guys. I have dakars and 255/85 km2s waiting to go on my new old truck. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think it was here I read about relocating the rear axle to eliminate rear rubbing. Was that you? If so, what does that entail?

Edit - something like this, I assume?

Yeah, but I got mine here...

    http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/Shims.shtml#StdRelocationPlate

You just have to take off the u bolts, and drop the axle down then slide the plates in and select how far you want to move it back.

    Mine rubbed pretty good

    IMG_20150724_081834.jpg

Now it looks good, not flexed all the way but I haven't had any issues.

Thanks for the info. I may install te dakars and test to see if I'll actually need ten first. Maybe there's differences truck to truck, or is this a pretty standard need for fitting 33s with these trucks?

I think that its a pretty known issue with larger tires. Maybe with some 265 tires it wouldn't touch.
