I wouldn't know. There was some litigation happening regarding the second gen frame rot. I lost track of it... tomorrow I'll pull the docket and see where it's at.

Well , we could start a rumor that a "Yet to be Named" company will be selling a "DIY" frame kit for "taTa's " Tacomas. Company says it's gearing up to sell hundreds of thousand of kits to unsupported TaTa's Customers. Backers of this new company said to be "Ziebart" , Fluid Film and 3M. That Might get TaTa's attention

I'm about to get rid of it. Waiting on the dealership to find the Tundra that I want. I found the exact truck I want, but the seem reluctant to get it for me. The salesman doesn't know what is going on and called me today saying he didn't know if they got it or not, but he can't find any others that meet all of criteria. The big issue is I want the navigation on an Sr5. He made it sound like the other dealership sold the one I wanted because they took it off their website, but then he goes, but Marsha may have traded for it, I don't know. I wanted to say well then why don't you go ask Marsha if she got it or not. Anyway, I spent about 30 minutes today and found 5 more trucks that meet my criteria within 250 miles. I'm not sure why I'm able to find them using auto trader and the dealership can't find them using their software. Anyway, they were going to give me $10,000 trade in on my Tacoma. Toyota told me it was fine and to spray some anti rust stuff on it so I did and I am trading it in before it gets any worse.

I have beeen down the rusty frame road myself. Ended up trading mine in for a fj. Then traded my fj to a 2015 tacoma i have now. I would guess the dealer can find just about anything out there that you can find. However they may not admit to it because they cant get it for the price they want. In a nut shell if they cant make some good money on you there not gonna break there backs trying to find you a special truck you want. My local dealer took my 06 in on trade knowing the frame was about rusted in half. After i tried for a year to get them to fix it. An sold it to the next guy not even a week later. An low and behold he didnt know the frame was jacked up from rust till after he bought it. Fact is alot of dealers dont give a damn about the customer. There just trying to make money jusy like everyone i guess.

They were giving me what I thought was a decent deal on what they were going to get for me. MSRP was $44,513 or something like that. Originally they came out with a price of $43,315. I said well the website of the dealer that is selling it has it listed online for $41,315 so they came back and said yeah we can do that, but it's going to cost you $500 in shipping costs to get it here. I agreed to it, but maybe they just aren't wanting to put the effort into it and I'm going to have to find a different dealer to go through.

Doesnt hurt to shop around for the best deal. A dealership out there somewhere will be more then happy to assist you in anyway possible to earn your buisness. If your current dealership isnt meeting your terms find one who will. Some dealerships get all the buisness they need no matter what they sell or price there vehicles at. So there not gonna break there back trying to sell you a truck without marginal gains.

I sent an email yesterday with a link to 5 different trucks that had what I wanted. I just got a call from the salesman saying that all of the Sr5's were gone and that just because they are on the websites, that doesn't mean they are still available. As I was on the phone with him, I got emails back from two of the dealers that had those trucks saying they were still available. I'm not sure if it is their search software or if they just don't want to make the deal. After telling me that, he says there are 10-15 Pro's out there that they may be able to make a good deal on. He did hint that they may not be able to deal much on them, which I knew, but it's still a hope. This is not a big dealership and the first time I was in there, he was talking about how they were really trying to increase their sales.

Well, after 5.5 months of a rental, I got a call saying mine is done! I go pick it up tomorrow and am asking TW for what issues to look for after its back in my possession. I'm not trying to stick it to the dealer, but I want a sort of list of issues others have had. Like I remember one issue of a 4x4 sensor not being hooked up, so 4wd wouldn't work.

My chassis is currently being replaced, inspected in October replaced in July. Had to get some other work done, handbrake cables, steering rack, A/C hose, rear wheel seal. Toyota is making money off of this one for sure.

I was over at the dealer recently, a couple of northern Colorado trucks getting new frames.

I finally got mind back. From Jan 5, 2016 to July 23, 2016. It appears to run OK after leak issue in front gearbox and bleeding brakes one more time. All EPA stuff cleared on time and it steers straight. Even got the new rear leafs and the ECM was flashed (that one worries me cause mine never pinged). It only costed me for new idlers and a belt. Perfect time to replace them. Hoping for no other issues to pop up. A lot of work was done to it but it seems good. 1st thing was to grab the Service Manager and go to a dirt field and run truck through its paces. No noises, no pops, pings, or knocks. Will hit the beach next week.
So what have others experienced? Hopefully good things.

Has anyone had their trailer hitch replaced under this recall? Mine seems to be pretty bad, and since they replaced almost everything attached to the frame, I wasn't sure if the hitch should be part of it or not.

Couldn't get my hitch replaced either, ended up grabbing one from a 2014 that was totaled for $100. They should be included but they aren't.

My saga started in July 2015 when the Service Advisor told me that the frame would be replaced in December 2015. So in January I paid them a visit and found the Service Advisor never got my approval or ordered the parts/frame. Needless to say, he had left to find new employment a few weeks prior... So now I'm 180 days into the Service Manager's 90-120 day projected wait for the frame. I called them last week and called them a few names that probably didn't speed my parts along, but it made me feel a little better.
