Well, I can finally introduce myself!! I joined back in May of this year when I found out I was going to get a Taco. I recently lucked into a 2009 Taco from an Estate Sale. However, due to VA state law, I had to wait 60 days after his passing before they could sell any of his stuff - hence why I haven't posted anything until now. It's all black with LESS THAN 60K miles on it. The gentleman who owned it was apparently an elderly man who couldn't drive very well, so he ran over a mailbox a time or two, leaving a bunch of white scratches on the front bumper and some on the tire fenders. He also couldn't use his right leg and had a left gas pedal installed. I quickly had that taken out by a friend who is a mechanic with his own shop (anyone ever watch Fantom Works?), and after checking out the whole truck identified it only needed front brake pads/rotors. The interior was quite dirty, as the guy was an avid hunter and apparently drank (and spilled) a lot of sodas, so after a lot of cleaning with Q7 (GREAT stuff that my brother-in-law sells) and wiping down several times, it looks brand new! I also scrapped three old, faded stickers off the back window. It's a PreRunner with the TRD Off-Road package. Haven't learned a lot about it yet, but am loving this website and these forums to see what others have done to personalize and perfect the Taco. I hope to meet some of the guys around here during the next meet-up in the Fredericksburg / Stafford area. Hopefully my pictures load up and you guys can see. Later!

    The Basics:
    2009 DCSB
    Prerunner SR5
    TRD Off-Road

    List of never ending changes:

    Shoes:
Wheels: HELO HE878 Satin Black Wheels
    Tires: Toyo Open Country A/T2 - 255/85R-16
These are much wider than the stock tires, and required some trimming and I removed the mud flaps because they are too long and scrapped every time I went into or out of my driveway

    Audio:
    Headunit: JVC KW-R920BTS
    Metra double-din faceplate
    FingerLakes 3.5mm microphone
Rear Speakers: 6" Kicker CS series
Front Speakers: 6"x9" Kicker CS series
Sub: 10" 1500-watt (400 watt RMS) Sony Xplode
BOSS Audio Riot 1100M Mono Car Amplifier with Remote Volume Control
Surge Install Amp 8-gauge wiring kit

    Interior:
    Plastidip the speedo dials
    Plastidip the gear-shifter surrounding piece
Climate control knobs - REMOVED didn't like them at all!
    Weather Tech front floor mats
Patches - small but ever growing collection
Center console organizer - had to replace the sticky-backed velcro a couple of times to find one that would hold!
Center console organizer - used a six pack cardboard case

    Commo:
CB: Probably the Cobra 75WXST 40-channel - not purchased yet
Antenna: Probably a 4ft FireStick - not purchased yet

    Exterior:
    Magnaflow muffler
    AVS vent shades
    Plastidip the front grill black
    Plastidip the front emblem red
Plastidip the side and rear logos red
Painted front tow hook with Rustoleum red - just because
    N-fab light bar
Auxbeam 4" LED Pods 18W Flood LED Light Bar 1800lm
Custom made and painted rear-facing LED light mount brackets, one will hold the Firestick antenna
Auxbeam 4" LED Pods 18W Flood LED Light Bar 1800lm

    Suspension:
Bilstein 5100's in front set at .85 - gave about a 2.5 inch lift

    MISC:
    Diff Breather Relocation Mod

This is how the truck looked before the 5100’s. Up-to-date pictures to come.

Current patch collection; definitely more of a hobby than obsession.

Mostly, any mods to my truck will be slow going. I am camping this week with my sons Boy Scout troop and am going to take the opportunity to just play with the truck.

Today I added the center console organizer mod from this forum:https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/grid-it-center-console-lid-organizer-no-drilling.352463/ It was a good fit, but doesn't close easily. I'm scared if I cut more off around the sides then I will lose the stitching that keeps the damn thing together. So right now I just have to close it a bit harder, not really a show stopper. I hope the pictures attached below. The red and blue that you can see is the actual stitching I mentioned.

Edit: I recently had to get two more (4 total) industrial strength self-adhesive Velcro strips because two was not enough to hold it to the lid. I haven't attached anything to the straps yet because I'm trying to make sure it holds.

Edit (again): I had to rip all the velcro pieces I bought, and add different ones that are also industrial strength self-adhesive. Not sure if the first set wouldn't stick because it got so hot being parked all day, or if it was a bad set, or maybe I added too much weight before it had a chance to really take hold, or what. The second set seems to be holding much better.

Today I spent some time playing with a 'mod' that others have done, and that's some plastidip. The only thing is, I couldn't find any plastidip in red, so I ended up buying the Rustoleum version, Flexidip. My plan is to also do the emblems on the sides and back, and want to go with red on a black truck. So enough of the words and now onto the pictures! I'm not going to post the 'before' pictures, as everyone knows what that looks like.

Bored and did this today. This week I have been at my kids Boy Scout camp and I have some time to kill, and left over Flexidip. One thing I didn't take into consideration when peeling off the tape was that the paint would peel too, so I cut around the rest of the sides with my knife and that worked well. Hopefully the part that peeled up a bit doesn't get any worse or I will have to do the whole thing over. Honestly I'm not even sure if I like it but it was already all chipped up so whatever.

Thanks. If you try this there's four tabs on the back side that have to be eased out. I used two small flathead screwdrivers, one more or less just to give the second a place to start moving around. As I came to the tabs there was very little prying. I was really nervous about breaking those little suckers.

I'm hoping to make it to the meetup but if not I am still down for a mod or wrenching day. Want to change out to Hella horns and do my plugs! I read something one time about replacing bushings, but not sure what or where those are on my truck to even see if they should be replaced!
