Is there anyway to change the guide lines in the rear view camera? My 2014 had lines like the first picture and my 2015 has lines like the second picture.

The lines are non-adjustable as far as I have seen.

+1. Pretty sure the only way to change them is to swap out the camera for a different (aftermarket) model.

Kinda what I figured. Definitely not worth the trouble or money. Thank you both!

I had a '13 that I moved the camera display from the mirror into the radio and I lost the lines, so in that case the lines were in the mirrors' display. I was told that I could swap the camera in the tailgate with an aftermarket to get the lines back. So I guess the lines could be in either.

What purpose do the lines serve? Are they tied into backup warning system? I have the original backup camera in my tailgate which doesn't have lines in the display and I manage just fine.

They are just there as a guide. I had a 2014 that had the longer lines and I'm just used to them.
Other than that they don't really do anything.

There is a guy on eBay who sells a conversion kit. The radio is already set up for it, you just have to reroute the input and trigger wiring. The kit is $60 shipped.

The conversion entails loosening the lower dash to the left of the steering wheel, unplugging a connector going to the camera in the mirror and connecting the harness, splice into one wire, run the harness over and plug it into the radio, and connect an extra pin into the radio plug. Over all not a hard job and takes about an hour.

$60 sounds like robbery. You can make it for less than $1 worth of parts that you probably already have in your spare parts box. The camera puts out a conventional NTSC video signal (like the round yellow plug on the back of your TV) at a resolution of 720x480. You just need to feed it power, and connect up the video signal. The extra pin in the radio plug goes to the backup lights to tell the head unit to switch on the backup camera. Personally, I'd rather wire it up to a switch than to use the reverse signal, since I would be more inclined to use it when I need it, such as hooking up a trailer (keep it on through the entire process). I prefer not to have it switch to reverse camera when just normal backing up -- that's just dumb.

The plug is not an RCA jack, there are two small 2 or 3 pin connectors similar to those used on a PC board, a larger one of the same style for the radio, and a matching pin for the existing plug. I'm not even sure where you would get these plugs other than maybe an MCM electronics.

I'm a DIYer too, but to have everything together in one kit with instructions and pictures was worth it to me. Yeh, it's probably <$10 in parts, but someone else did the hard work.

There's no hard work, and there's nothing special about it. While it may not have an "RCA" jack, that is irrelevant, since that is only the SHAPE of the plug. The whole thing needs precisely THREE wires; video, positive, negative. And like I said, the video signal is analog NTSC 720x480.

You can see which is which in the vehicle's wiring diagram, and google will help you find that in just a few seconds.
