I'm new to the forum, trying to find a simple plug n play trailer harness for my 16 tacoma 4x4 base. Also what is this connector for? It is located just behind the cap for factory plugs.image.jpg

I have the same issue. I already purchased part number PT725-34140 (shown below), which fits perfectly in the port next to the license plate, but I can't find the wiring harness to connect this part to the existing wiring on a 2016 Tacoma. I have called the dealership and Toyota customer service and neither of them could help me. They don't make the part yet. Basically, a Toyota dealership can't install a towing package unless they come with one from the factory. They could rewire the whole truck for 900 dollar. No thanks! It really annoying and frustrating. I hope they make one soon or someone on here has a better idea! I want to be able to use the 4/7 way pin connector, why else would there be a port for it?

Yeah, all I got was part #pt725-35120, it's $157 on Amazon but the instructions have you tearing apart the drivers side floor and the dashboard to make a connection. It's completely bass ackwards! I still don't know what the open connector is for either!!!
