Looking to get the TSB update done however want to take it in somewhere where they are familiar with the issues.... any dealers you recommend?

    In the LA/Long beach/OC area.

Where did you all get the update done?

What's the leaf spring TSB for, squeaking? I thought there wasn't anything out for that yet

I have an appointment for 10k service and TSB tomorrow at Crown Toyota in Ontario. I'll report back how it goes.

It was for The rear bottoming out when a load was in the bed, some ppl got it done to just raise the back up a little. Btw it was done on a 2010 Tacoma, not sure if the 2016 has that problem.

Dude...tell me about it. I could go on and on about the BS I've dealt with dealing with them. Avoid at all costs. They once tried telling me, after having my truck all day, that the loud grinding noise I was hearing while shifting gears was because I had aftermarket floor mats. Took it to another shop and they discovered right away that my t-case skid had gotten pushed up into the transfer case, causing the grinding noise.

Bob Smith Toyota in La Canada/Flintridge is a great place, really nice advisors and techs. It's a much smaller dealership so they can get pretty slammed, but they're much more attentive, personable, honest and all-around competent than Pasadena Toyota.

Don't take it to DCH Toyota of Simi Valley, the service was so proud to announce that they install a ton of updates, even some for a 2014. Took them 3 days to figure it out. They drove 24 miles to diagnose issue.

I went to John elway this past weekend. They did both tsbs. Lca plugs, tranny update and also checked my atf fluid. Kind of funny I had the fluid checked at Claremont earlier in the month and they said it was a little more than half a quart low. John elway said it was another quart low.

My service writer had no idea but the mechanics looked it up and were able to fix it. Only pain was that the dealer didn't have the plugs for the lca in stock so I left my truck there over night.

Plugs for LCA? Pls elaborate. I'm new to truck parts and it always helps us females to sound like we know what we're talking about. We get much farther with service depts that way ;)

The lower control arm. There's an upper control arm and a lower control arm. On the lower control arm there are holes drilled in them. While driving between 30-50 miles per hour the holes have a coke bottle effect. Kind of like blowing over the top of a coke bottle to make it whistle. The plugs are inserted in the holes and eliminate the whistling sound.

What I did was call and make an appointment for my truck asking for the two tsb's to be performed on my truck.

The whistling caused by the holes in the lower control arms and the transmission programming update. I would also ask them to check the transmission fluid level if this hasn't already been done.

    Hope that helps.

Ah gotcha. Couldn't quite understand why the LCA was involved. Thanks a bunch.

I've have good luck with Toyota of orange for my service/problems.

Granted I don't have experience with the tsb, but I would still recommend them.

That's where I bought my truck! However I live closer to South Bay Toyota. So was planning on going there. Anyone recommend?

I would just go to your local dealer unless you've had a bad experience there.
