I just am on the search for a waterproof cargo bag to mount on my rack.

My experience with waterproof bags has led me to use dry bags inside as well. Driving forces water in unexpected places. Plus the dry bags help organize stuff.

The North Face duffels are the best you can buy but they are expensive.

Duffel bags sitting out in the open worry me for some reason. I feel like it would be too easy for water to find it's way in even if it's waterproof as well as the possibility of getting ripped up by a tree limb or something. :notsure:

Some last minute upgrades before setting off to the Sierra's on Wednesday.

Scored those freshly rebuilt 2.5 Icon's with the CDV for $650 :). SUPER pumped as the truck really needed a "real" shock with all the weight and my driving style.

Nice score. I will say though I have never seen boots on an ICON Shock before. Did they come boots?

Negative. I transferred the boots from the 2.0's that I was running. They do a great job of keeping dirt off and pitting from the shafts therefore keeping the seals in good shape.

Huh. Never had those issues with mine. Nice Fox bumps too. Very similar set up to what I am running. 11" custom ICON 2.5" short bodies with Fox 4" hydro bumps and an Alcan 61" custom spring pack.

Looks good and smart on the boots!

It's a common problem for people who wheel on trails where there are small stones that get flung.

Even with front mudflaps, there is going to be fallout. :)

The damage to this shock body is from one trip to Death Valley NP.

It takes time, but one a year, I restore everything, by cleaning and painting.

Thanks @1MK. I'm reading more about radios, its good to see some people who have small hand held radios and get an idea of what to expect for ~30-40$

Keep in mind it's not a replacement for a actual radio setup. That little handheld is extremely limited on receiving and transmitting when you're inside the truck using it. Like mentioned, I use it for spotting and walking around.

    Handheld - ~5 watts
    Mobile Radio - ~50 watts

Wow I have never seen that much pitting and the truck sees plenty of dirt roads. But I have never gotten a chance to run the desert... yet.
