are you guys noticing a huge difference with OME/Bilstein shocks over stock? wondering if it's definitely worth the change..

    Marie,

I don't want to repeat what this guy said but I'm on the same exact boat... What options did you give him? Thank you.

I have OME and 5100s. IMO, it rides a little smoother. I feel like I can hit bumps and stuff on the road a little faster and it soaks it up. I don't even remember what stock rides like though, so I may be a bit off

I've been lifting Jeeps for 15 years(XJ, TJ, JK) and feel like a totally newbie with this thing. I need a PM as well I guess. 2016 double cab off-road short bed. I prefer no new controls arms... so shocks(5100), coils(885), AAL, and anything I need to install (dif drop?) (strut assembly?).

I'll be doing it myself in my garage, so anything else I need? 2"-2.5" front? - 1" rear?

    I think I want to run 285/75R16

Marie will chime in soon, but you pretty much nailed it. For the rear, AALs are 1.5 or 2". I went with 2" and I like the amount of rake. You don't really need strut assembly either. If you have a floor jack, you can assemble the shocks on the truck with no spring compressor.

Can anyone confirm if the ride is better than stock with any of the kits sold? IE: With OME or Bilstein items.

I want to do a small lift but don't wan't to lose ride quality. Ideally I want better than stock ride.

5100s, OME 881s, Headstrong Offroad 3 Leaf AAL's in the rear (factory overload retained), .25" spacer on driver's side for lean.

Bought the kit through Headstrong a few weeks ago and got it installed this week. Love it so far!! Rides so much better than the tired stock setup I had on my '04, feel much more in 'control' of my truck and it isn't rough at all, except maybe a little bit in the rear since I have no weight in the back end (yet). The rear is raked 1.75" higher than the front because I left the factory overload leaf in, if I take it out it would probably sit level. But I do plan on putting a topper on it eventually, with the added weight and settling factor over time I'm sure it will even out. I kind of like the rake anyway.

Excited to take it out this weekend to Pilot Rock and hit up the trails!

I have Bilstein adjustables w/ 3" Eibach coils and Camburg UCA's in the front. And currently regular 5100's and a 1.5" AAL with the factory leaf pack that has 245,000 miles on them. I really want to pull the trigger on the Headstrong 3 leaf progressive pack and take the overload spring out for a lift of 2". I'm thinking I'm going to get a little rake since my truck sits level now w/ the 1.5" AAL. But my leaf pack is really worn out! I know they offer the Icon 1.5" AAL for a little bit more $$$. The free shipping from Headstrong is very enticing. What do you all think? I have an 04 DC and rarely haul anything but I go off-road every one in awhile. Not too often though at this point. I didn't realize the progressive AAL pack is installed on top of you OEM leaf pack. Is that correct? If I knew I wasn't going to get any rake from the Headstrong leaf pack, I would buy them today.

So are you looking for rear leaf replacement?

Not the whole leaf pack. Just something better than the 1.5 AAL I've had in there since I had my spacer lift that I replaced with the lift I have now. I want to get a progressive 3 leaf AAL Pack. But am wondering if 2" will be too much. I've always had good luck w/ 3" on the front & 1.5" in the back. But I only have enough money to buy the Headstrong leaf pack. Although if I get it. It looks like I'll also have to switch out my 5100's too. They worked fine with my 1.5" AAL I've had back there for the last 3 years.

I have a 2" AAL in the rear and it looks great! This is with 2.5" in the front.

Yeah 2nd gens are heavier than 1st gens. Is that just a 2" AAL? Or 2" progressive 3 leaf pack?

Ah, didn't catch that part. That's a single AAL. I was just showing that being 2" lifted in the rear and 2.5 in the front looks fine.

Yeah cause I have a 3" lift up front & 1.5" AAL in the back. Just can't decide on if I should jump to the 2" progressive or 1.5" progressive or just leave it alone. Mine sits like this.

    Marie,

Hoping you can help me out. I don't off road too much so it will mostly be street. But I am trying to decide between the OME w/ the HS 3 leaf aal or the billies w/ 885 and your HS 3 leaf aal.

What do you think would work better and also help give me a leveled look? LR UCAs would also be added for either choice.

    Thank you.
