The story of my life! A day late and a dollar short - LOLI believe Crutchfield sells the Scosche kit - please correct me if I'm wrong. Thats where I ordered from and it will arrive tomorrow. Just received my speakers today so if I can catch some decent weather I might get those installed

ha my bad man. I had the scosche kit before. The main advantage of this kit is that you can mount the screen more up and down. I removed sosche one to many times to install new things and it busted. With the Metra, you mount the surrounding seprately from the HU, so it's easier to get on correctly too.

I'm not sure what kit crutchfield sells.

    Happy New Year Fellas!!

Just thought I'd post an update on this...

I received my speakers just before Christmas and installed the JVC 6x9's in the front doors and the JVC 6.5's in the access doors on Christmas day. I used the ********* mounting kit in MDF, not plastic and caulked around the MDF to the door and any other useless holes in the sheet metal, etc. With some exceptions, the better a speaker enclosure is sealed, the better sound you'll achieve.

I noticed a very good improvement in sound quality - clarity, bass, and dB's by just replacing the 4 speakers. Its an easy job with the right tools and some ingenuity so don't be afraid to try it. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

Fast forward till today and I received my new JVC KW-XG700, not our top of the line HU but the best of our double DIN, non-NAVI/DVD HU's. I ordered the kit and harness from Crutchfield which were Metra (nicer than the Scosche). The installation literally took 30-40 minutes and thats including splicing the wire harnesses.

What a night and day difference in sound. Good bass, very loud, and clean highs. Excellen DIY upgrade for anyone handy and not afraid of removing door panels. The double DIN HU looks great in the dash and plays MW3/WMA/AAC files via USB so I have plenty of tunes.

    Thanks for your input!
